Federal judge voids mask mandate on planes, public transit

They are not sure if it will and when it will go in affect but it is a good start

So I rode the LIRR for the first time since Feb of 2020 the other day.
Very few people wore masks- I'd say on the train I took in maybe 5% of the people I saw, tops. Even the conductor who came to take the tickets wasn't wearing one.
I thought all transportation still had a mask mandate.
Clearly they aren't enforcing it on the trains like they are on the planes.

"Supposed to be" being the key word. LIRR passengers and employees clearly have zero fuks to give anymore. There was some sign in the station saying you can get a $50 fine for not wearing a mask on the train. I was like can I just pay that in cash or do you want my credit card? I'd gladly pay 50 bucks to be left the hell alone to breathe. Sign me up!

The White House JUST announced NO mask mandate on ANY transportation. All choice now :)

Yes as we have to do it to travel and it will cost us $400.
That and vaccinations for cruises :)

I can't believe that people are still testing as for WEEKS when I was testing there was NO ONE. I don't believe any of their numbers.
Stay home if you feel sick, no need to test.

Yes, I think it's time to ditch testing. Especially with the isolation period in most instances being 5 days - which is pretty much the duration of the illness... I think it's just making people crazy. I tested DS since I really thought he had strep and we were at the doctor anyway (and he needed a test to return to school). I think DH and I got it but we didn't test (DH was pretty sick and I was just kind of stuffy and lethargic but I had been sick and Covid negative the week before with a sinus infection - they wouldn't treat me until they tested me for Covid and flu).
