Two weeks and no communication is a break up. I think I recall you mentioned he could not leave his mother and you were always second place. You have been together for a while, but I don’t think it was a truly healthy relationship. I would take the job unencumbered, and I hope it is all you wanted.

We worked through the mother issue, but that’s neither here nor there now.
I know the job will be awesome, but living in that area kind of scares me. It is extremely right-wing and the right-wing party gets the most support there. And I don’t mean American right-wing either. I’m talking the Neo-Nazi right wing. It’s disgusting.

Wow! That still exist there?
Talking about the relationship, I’d consider it a break up too. I understand he might have been hurt for your decision but it doesn’t even seem he tried to work things out. Maybe long distance, maybe relocating for him, something.
Congratulations on the job though! Going after ur goals and dreams is something very fulfilling and satisfying.

Yes, sadly it exists. It came back in Eastern Germany after the fall of the wall.
It exists a little bit in Western Germany, too. It’s mostly against the Turkish and Muslims now.

Yup, already did that. I think he was a bit controlling by paying for things to keep me here. But I won’t stand for someone totally ignoring me for the fact that I got a wonderful job interview. I hadn’t even gotten the job at that point.
That being said, he is a good person. He just had too many demons that I couldn’t help him with (and I shouldn’t).
