It's interesting to me how close this poll is so far. I thought the results would be way more skewed towards removing the masks.

Because people love telling others what they should do.

Yep it makes them feel good.
People who have never had any power suddenly feel powerful. The age of the Karens!
And apparently they feel super safe and protected with a piece of cloth over their face

How does whether I want kids to continue wearing a mask have anything to do with me wanting power? What if for my kids health I prefer others to wear masks in crowded environment? What if my opinion on the matter has nothing to do with power? What if it were just that? MY opinion on a pole question ? Hmmm. Wouldn’t that be something?

If that was the case, masks would be optional. EVERYWHERE
They aren't
Because people like this want EVEYRONE masked.
We got our kids unmaksed today. We fought in court and won. For a day
Guess what, assholes lost their minds over it
So yeah it affects me and my child when power hungry and/or paranoid scared people think they get to decide what's best for EVERYONE.
And 2 years in- I'm over it.
ALL of it

Now you can go away again until someone else posts something that triggers you and come back then to get defensive. Again

Like I said before Hochul is looking to make this regulation permanent and as u can see in this board alone many will support her stupid, tyrannical decision. So, I hate to say it but we should start getting prepared to have children masked 9 out of the 10 months they’re in school, camp, extracurricular activities, events, etc, etc, etc. That’s the price we’ll have to pay to live in the beautiful state of NY Chat Icon.

Yep! We have to live with all
The dumb rules of NY. Crime is high and freedom is lost.

Re: Simple poll about masks on children at school.

I think I was wrong. I will admit that about a post on another thread. We just got an email from our school board explaining several lawsuits against our school districts for the mask mandates in place at the schools bc no state mandate. The email stated that if the decision comes down to unmask in school there is a strong possibility of all schools going remote until the current spread diminishes. So if my choice is for my sons to wear a stinking piece of fabric over their face or go remote you’re darn skippy I choose mask every time and so will they. And you can argue that we shouldn’t have to make that choice but who knows what we should have to do bc none of us have lived through these times before. But that’s neither here no there bc here we are. My stance remains. Keep the masks on and the kids and teachers in school. That’s my vote.

I'm with you. I never want to go remote again.

This really isn’t born out by the data especially when you look at trends.

Most people support things like abortion rights, gay marriage, etc.

Most people are happy to let others live their lives as long as what they are doing doesn’t affect others. Masks don’t fall under that category because we’re in a public health crisis and they do help stop the spread.

I’m not surprised by the numbers on this board. We’re here, just mostly choosing not to engage because of the nastiness. Most people understand that this is the dead of winter and we are still coming out of a spike and it’s too soon for this. If the numbers go down I’d certainly be open to it. But now is not the time.

Thank you for pointing this out respectfully.

Hmm I am sure I could find a post but not going to go look. Other posters do tell people to go away.

Nah probably because you are lying about this entire situation.

Nope it’s not a great thing to lie about. It’s a shame someone would tell a story like that.

A simple thank you and even if you include, I know you are not concerned but she is doing better or she is not is better than ignoring. Ignoring sounds like someone is lying. BTDT with people I no longer associate with.

That's the problem there is no public health crisis anymore. Sorry there is not. I know some people want to extend the pandemic forever and ever but it's time to let it go! If you want your kid to wear a mask that should be your choice. The science has proven that the masks have little to no impact on preventing and spreading the virus. There will always be some risk for ANY virus. You cannot realistically expect there to be 0 risk. Masks are negligible at managing that risk so why are we still mandating them?

We have vaccines, boosters and more knowledge on how to deal with COVID not to mention that the Omicron variant while highly contagious, was much much less deadly then the first variants. It's time to move on.

At this point its blatantly obvious that these governments don't care about public health rather they are thriving on the power and control. I can't believe people don't see right through this??

For the record, i AM triggered.
I will fully admit it.
I'm triggered by this nonsense.
I'm triggered that my child got one day of freedom to breathe in something other than her own toxic exhalations only to have it ripped away again by power hungry psychopaths .
And I'm triggered that the only people who CHOICE applies to are those who want to stay hidden behind a disgusting mask forever.
So yeah. I'm triggered.

Again

Who are any of you to decide who can post and who can’t? Nasty. Was I nasty? No I responded. But you guys really don’t want to hear what anybody on the opposing side has to say. Doesn’t appear to me that I’m the one triggered here.

Omg you didn’t just say this did you? Especially the first sentence. Hope your SIL is doing well. I see you didn’t answered Lululu.

I guess it’s as funny as Nel saying someone else was triggered?? Don’t think I’ve said who could post or who should go away? And no. I won’t answer bc none of you are asking sincerely or out of any kind of concern.

Actually I was asking sincerely. I don’t want to hear about anyone on a vent, especially a mom with young children. I noticed you hadn’t posted in a while and I was concerned that she passed. Hopefully that’s not the case and she is fully recovered.

Re: Simple poll about masks on children at school.

From one of the lawyers who brought the case for us:

The Judge granted a temporary restraining order till Friday and we will file our objection too by Friday.

Friday's submission is to determine if the TRO remains in place until the actual appeal is decided

We believe strongly we have the proper arguments in place to win and expected this today from Judge Miller.

I would expect a decision in the ruling Sunday or Monday and am very confident.

Additionally I spoke with Chad and we expect to file another Moab next week.

I take it personally a Governor fought this viciously to take away a parents choice

Today was the most United NYS has felt to me in a long time and we’re not letting that go anytime soon.

More to come- we’re just getting started with Hochul; it’s a funny thing the law and the constitution!

Re: Simple poll about masks on children at school.

The most frustrating part of all this is that people still believe masks have any effect on this virus, despite all evidence to the contrary. Despite the “authorities” themselves saying cloth masks do nothing. Despite the clear language on the packaging. Despite the fact that cases have never been higher. People do not want to listen to the facts because they rather be delusional just to trick themselves into feeling better. Meanwhile we are conditioning our kids to blindly follow nonsensical rules, breathe in pneumonia causing bacteria, and never seeing anyone smile. So so so sad.

At this point, you know what a mask is good for? Virtue signaling.

We had our school board meeting tonight and our superintendent mentioned - removing masks needs to go hand in hand with ending quarantines.

Please share the research you are using to claim that masks are not effective in protecting against Covid.

It’s not mask wearing that the problem, it’s the type of mask. Stop buying the cutesy cloth masks and get a N95 or at the minimum, a surgical mask.

Masks are not muzzles. Masks are not abuse. Masks suck, but so does getting sick and before you say 98% blah blah blah survive…stop and think for one minute. How many Americans have died?

2200 people per day in the US are dying from Covid. 2200!

Who cares if some have co-morbities. Not all do, many are healthy, young people.

2200 of your fellow Americans are dying each day

Vaccine vs Mask. What is less invasive.

If you don’t want the “jab,” can you at least wear a mask?

What is the big deal? Seriously?

Masks work. I am not debating that at all. I just think at this point, we know we will never be able to eliminate COVID. So at some point we will need to decide that we can be done with masks- personally, I don't care if we have to wear them a little longer. But people are very passionate about this and I am so over the drama on both sides- the whole world has gone mad and the nastiness coming from both sides- who then claim that the other side is so nasty without listening to themselves- has got to stop. It doesn't solve a damn thing.
