Hochul just announced
Mask mandate until 2/1 and all SUNY and CUNY students get the booster.
I am so upset for these kids as they have no choice when wanting to get an education in NY.
She needs to go. Didn’t think we could get any worse than Coumo.

Well clearly the vaccine is not the solution.
So how about the Choice to take something that protects only you ? Choice. A novel concept
That's my solution.
Or, my other solution would be a vaccine that perhaps prevents transmission. Then they can mandate that for colleges etc. Because mandating something that prevents transmission would make sense.
But we know that will never happen as they seem to be beholden to doubling and tripling down on the current vaccines for some reason.
So this will never end.

I liked what Eric Adams said - before mandating the booster we need to determine how effective it is vs Omicron. He may be as bad as Big Bird but at least he says he’s looking at data…

Yes all local colleges are requiring it before the spring semester. My job is mandating it, I went to get the booster the Thursday before Christmas. I ended up getting an allergic reaction to it, and then, testing positive for covid less than a week later. My whole family has it now (husband is vaccinated as well) and some of our family members we saw at Christmas Eve and Christmas. My kids thankfully do not have any symptoms, except for my baby which he has a cold/cough and congestion.

The vaccine should definitely evolve - like the flu vaccine.
This is such a mess. They encourage everyone to test but the system is overwhelmed as everyone tests. The very sick aren’t testing as they are too sick to want to wait in line for hours to tell them they are sick.
People are mad schools are opening on Monday.
I have two coughing children post non-Covid virus who prob will be sent home in 10 minutes since they sound horrible as their symptoms of their non Covid illness resolve. But my ped is closed and overwhelmed anyway… and I’m not waiting outside urgent care for hours…

Lol - if they go remote - maybe we can meet at Kalahari. That is what drives me crazy - I can take my kids to Kalahari but they may not be able to be masked and distanced learning in person.

Yep! If my daughter is home she will be with friends, indoors and living normally.
In school she will be masked and monitored.

Did anyone catch the new normal on news 12 this week when the doctor said those who haven’t had their booster are more at risk of developing a serious case of Covid compared to a unvaccinated person?!?! Can’t make this up anymore. I think they are worried that many who complied originally are catching on and won’t get boosters so now they are going to try the scare tactics on them.

I would go ahead and demand more like conflicts of interest, pharma lobbying, ties between pharma and government, liability being given back to pharma companies, etc, etc. but I understand it will take a whole lot of effort, time, and awareness from the people to achieve all these things so in the meantime I’d just stick with giving the option to the individual to decide if a vaccine is what he needs to have or not. As long as this vaccine poses a health risk to an individual, that individual should have the right to choose to get it or not based on full informed consent.

What medical providers are vaccinating people without consent? I was given enough paperwork I could have gotten it bound at staples before each of my vaccinations.
If you want to say people don’t read the information given to them or that they don’t do their own research, fine. I won’t argue that. But the information is most certainly provided to them.

The kids are tested weekly and instead of distributing the tests before they go back, they’re giving them out on Monday to be returned on Tuesday. They are truly incomprehensibly stupid. There are going to be a ton of quarantines from exposures on Monday and Tuesday.

Ugh… we don’t have many school based quarantines - only the bus really because they are always distanced.
I thought though the goal was test to stay though but I think they realize they can’t do that lol.

A building cannot safely open without enough adults to be with the students. It is going to be a nightmare. So many buildings have no subs.

I know of some schools already remote for next week due to staffing shortages because of quarantine. Honestly I'd rather them just go remote this upcoming week if it will mean less staff having to quarantine later and cause a shift to remote for a longer period of time because of staffing.
Also apparently NYS has not adopted the new CDC 5 day quarantine rule, my kids still have to stay out a full 10 days.

I don’t know what kind of paperwork u were given. But I can assure u this doesn’t always happen and it’s not only providing a piece of paper. It’s having the provider talk to the patient in length about all the pros and cons, benefits/risks, side effects (short/long term), what can be expected -positive and negative. Answer all the patient’s questions and making sure the patient comprehend all the info given. This is a procedure that comes with risks and therefore it should be explained fully to the patient before he/she makes a decision. All u hear is the “positive” things about this vaccine. That’s not full informed consent. Full informed consent didn’t happen with vaccines (“safe and effective” sounds familiar?) prior covid and it’s not happening with this covid vaccine. This is one of the things the medical freedom movement wants to achieve.
