Anyone following? I’m curious to see if any of these crazy allegations that have been thrown around since Epstein’s arrest are found to be true.

I believe so. Many feel this is why the media is making Omicron such a big deal right now when so much is unknown and it's not in the US yet.

Maybe I am naive but honestly I am shocked at how many celebrities, CEOs, politicians, etc. are complete pedophiles. Beyond disgusting. I have really lost faith in humanity.

. Epstein was involved with a lot of powerful people. I’m sure they want this all downplayed. But I also think we, the general public, are so desensitized to the exploration of young girls. Look at Matt Gaetz- He’s been accused of some deplorable actions against young girls that have basically been substantiated as much as Epstein’s has and hes still on the fundraising political trail. Throwing that holier than thou card out and his moral superiority and people eat it up

I was reading about the first victims testimony. From the way it read it seems as though the victims mother was basically pimping out her daughter. It referenced that Epstein paid for private school for the girl, took her on vacations and was paying for her mother's apartment.
Absolutely disgusting! It's so disturbing that abusing young girls was so easy for him to accomplish because of his money.
I can't see how she won't be found guilty for the role she played.

Meanwhile, you couldn't escape the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.
Before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm not comparing the two from any kind of criminal standpoint. What I am saying is that the media chose to highlight that because of the racial undertones but chooses to ignore this one because of the possible exposure of some very powerful people. That is very disturbing to me.

I think the lack of coverage is because as a federal trial, there is no live feed and cameras are prohibited. Because of that, the news outlets are not running live feed but they are all covering the trial.

It's Federal court vs a state court. State court had a live feed and cameras whereas that is not allowed in a Federal court so there isn't much to cover during the day other then updates.

The trial does not need to be televised - I fully comprehend that it is a different jurisdiction and cameras are not allowed in federal court. However, the story deserves more than a 10 second blip on the evening news. I will say the WSJ, NY Post and the Times are doing live updates on their websites, but most other national news organizations are basically ignoring it - look at your browser's home page. Chances are it's not mentioned.
That is disturbing to me.

There are a lot of powerful people involved (so far I've heard Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew) and they don't want their names to get out. I did watch a documentary I think it was on Netflix regarding Epstein and Maxwell and how they used to recruit vulnerable girls from the local HS for Epstein's "massages" and then pay girls $200 to recruit more girls, awful.
