Years ago...probably like 12 or more, I was sick and completely lost taste and smell. I remember being at lunch with my boss, so annoyed I couldn't taste whatever we were eating.

Well according to information on this board you must have had it bc that’s the only sickness related to loss of taste/smell 
So ridiculous. I had the flu a few years back and lost my taste and smell too. I must have had Covid too I guess. There is no one symptom that is a Covid symptom. Most people feel like they have the cold or flu so they don't even go to the doctors. They know how to treat Covid now. The majority of people aren't dying unless they have something else going on. People need to realize Covid is not going away and we need to learn to live life around it.
Exactly. If they just stopped reporting every single day on the news and just give out info for what you can do to be healthier, then people wouldn’t be at each other’s throats. The media loves this though so it won’t end and everything must be assumed to be Covid so go run and hide.
The media is definitely making things worse. My parents have been here with the news on and the way they have been reporting it makes me feel like I should never leave the house.
I guess they are scaring people so much that people are trying to get their children under 12 vaccinated. The FDA had to issue a warning not to vaccinate kids under 12 as they are not small adults.
I still want to know what crazy fuk would try to vaccinate a child under 12 when it isn't even approved yet for that age group?
And are there doctors that would do this?
Are they using fake ID for their kids to make them appear older?
People need to get their heads examined. I'm not even being snarky when I say that.
This pandemic has caused a ton of mental illnesses.
Logic doesn't even apply anymore. Just fear.
That is definitely crazy and illogical!! But so is taking meds like ivermectin that are FDA approved for parasites and lice but not for viral infections, self dosing and risking overdose because of fear of vaccine side effects that so far have been minuscule and documented.
Yes. Both are crazy. It's not one or the other.
There are nuts on all sides of this.
Just because I have zero desire to give this vaccine to my child does not mean I will be using those other unapproved treatments either.
Exactly...it's like you don't have to be extreme on either side...neutral is OK. People do too much LOL

Absolutely. If it won’t scare you to get the vaccine, they won’t report it.
When I watch the news I sit and wonder how these people can actually report this crap and be happy about their job doing it. I would have quit by now.

People in hospitals with COVID have been interviewed and have SAID they regret not getting the vaccine. People whose loved ones have died have been interviewed and SAID that their loved one said they regret not getting the vaccine. I guess the big bad media must hve drugged them and made them say that

What happens is a covid positive patient opts on their own accord to post on social media or post video updates. Sadly, some got worse and died. It’s almost like a last days documentary that people are sharing on social media to spread the word. It’s mostly people who didn’t get vaccinated, regret it, and are begging people to take it seriously.
The videos gain traction from views and then news outlets report on it. They aren’t really pushing their way to get a story. They are already out there.

Monoclonal Antibody Treatment
This thread reminded me of the story of Dr. CJ and Dr. Erin Bui. They volunteered their 3 young kids for the vaccine trial. They don’t know if the kids got a placebo or the actual vaccine but I was floored by this story. These are intelligent doctors, presumably, as they are a pediatric neurosurgeon and a regular neurosurgeon. Their children were very young so it was alarming to my husband and I. My husband has the vaccine. I do not and I’m pregnant. I worry very much about my child having to get the shot and that makes me really scared. I’m all for anybody who wants to get the vaccine. I’m super careful. I FULLY take this virus seriously. I had it last year and it was no joke. For me, it nothing like the flu….yet I just personally do not want the vaccine at this stage of the game and I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving it to my soon-to-be young child. Yesterday on world news, an expert was cited who said that he thinks that in the fall children as young as six months will be approved for the vaccine. That scares me a lot. I know two people that got vaccinated while they were pregnant and they were fine. Good for them. It’s just not something I’m willing to do but I feel like eventually the world is going to get so small for the unvaccinated, that we’re gonna be forced to get the shot someday. I live in NYC so even if I wanted to eat indoors, I can’t. I just get takeout…such uncertain times we are living through.

I’m just letting it play out.
The world is getting smaller for unvaccinated. BUT so many vaccinated have no plan on getting their boosters. They will then become “unvaccinated”. I think the vaccine mandates will slowly disappear at that time.

Come on we all know that when a storms coming its all you hear about so everyone goes into panic mode runs to stock up and then we get nothing. Just by what the media reports drives our responses. If the media is astonished or angered by something people respond in the same manner. We tend to believe what the news is broadcasting but truth be told they might not be giving the whole story or even another view so people can see both sides. We only learn from what they are telling us.

As much as a lot of this might be true, if you (general you) obtain information from various sources, including "the media", it is more likley that you (again, general you) will gain a broader understanding of what is actually happening. Some on here seem to believe that "the media" is all evil and lies and limit their fact gathering to unsubstantiatead sources
