There is a way to stop this - stop voting them into office is the biggest way! When these pro mandate politicians are elected they see it as a sign of public opinion that this is what is wanted. Also, if lawsuits are brought in mass and people pull their kids from school even temporarily, the mass chaos alone will make it impossible to enforce. This is a VERY different situation than all the other required vaccines. Very. There are many legal arguments to be made that have merit. The problem is the judges are politicians as well and in NY we are all Democratic/Pro Vaccine Mandate so its not about the law and what's right. It's about politics. Tell everyone you know - voice your opinion at the polls!

Curious.
Is the religious exemption tied to the use of fetal cell lines in the development of the vaccine?
A hospital is requiring those requesting a religious exemption to also certify that they will not use some common over-the-counter medications that also use fetal cell lines in their development.

The states decision impact all schools (except a large number of Ultra-Orthodox Yeshivas - they can do whatever they want for some reason, and they are the ones who sparked the bill to end religious exemptions after their measles outbreak)
- not sure though about the NYC mayor impacting public and private schools.
I just feel that even if we win the "school" battle - there are going to be other things unvaccinated kids are restricted from...

I don't know.
That is what is upsetting me most too about these mandates - in the Hasidic comminuties - they are mainly unvaccinated, have high rates of Covid and they can go along living their every day lives. Nobody asks them to do anything.
ETA - but then you look at hospitalizaiton rates near them and they are low so maybe in this case they are doing it right.

Most people going for the religious exemption are using it as a loophole to keep their jobs. Not because they are so religious.
So yeah they'll certify they won't pop a Tylenol. Who will even know what OTC med they take in their private life?

I agree. And I'm glad I'm not alone.
There is no reason at all to mandate this vaccine for children.
If my daughter tested positive for Covid today I would feel a lot less anxious than if she was forced to get this shot. I'i feel like I'd be beside myself with worry if she had to be vaccinated.
I don't understand it. I really do not.
This power play, at the expense of our children.
It's disgusting.

Do you really think more people will start homeschooling?? Honest question.
I have no plans of homeschooling so if it’s mandated they’re getting it I guess. I don’t have the time to homeschool and I really don’t want be the one teaching my kids.
What I still find ironic parents are now all up in arms about mandates saying how no one‘s going to tell them what to put in there kid etc etc but there are already vaccine mandates required for schools. I get it it’s new and they are only against this one etc etc but I really wonder how many actually realize there are mandates now where they recently changed it with no religious exemption.

I don’t think too many people will start homeschooling but there will be those that will.
I do think people realize there is no religious exemption. And people realize vaccines are required for schools, they just question this one as the risk to children is low for Covid - almost about the same as the risk of the vaccine.
I have a feeling children will need this vaccination for more than just school - so many will end up caving. Like travel, activities, etc.
But a friend vaccinated her kids with their first dose yesterday and they seem to be doing fine. Our ped isn’t doing it until next Friday and that’s not soon enough for some.

Its not the point as they got it and they are dong fine. There are no long term studies on how the shot will effect them. There are vaccines that are mandated for schools but they have been out for a while and they are worked into the child's life from birth forward. This "shot" is being shoved down our throats for this mad rush to get everyone vaccinated. With Covid things have changed everyday and frankly I don't feel confidant that this would be the best for my child. I think its unfair that they are forcing people to take this shot at the rate of speed that they are pushing and not considering anything else. People has existing medical issues that could be concerning in conjunction with this shot. People have antibodies but that is just ignored and not even considered. Yes there is religious consideration just because the Pope okay's it doesn't mean that other religious people have there out reasons. Revelations 13 you will be made to take the mark of the beast and without it you will not be able to conduct commerce. Isn't that what is happening in NYC no shot no business. I truly feel if you want to protect your kids that is great, but people that don't should be able to make that decision too. They originally said Vaccine was 90.6% effective for kids but Covid survival is like 99% why would give an unkown, unproven poison to my kid.

When I got the letter last year that my son needed to show proof of his meningitis vaccine, I understood it was a mandate. We don’t like THIS Covid vaccine, this fairly new vaccine that won’t do much for our kids but has death as a side effect and enlarge hearts, possibly infertility that you won’t know till it’s too late.
Science tells us this vaccine won’t stop the spread or that kids need to be forced to take this vaccine. Wtf is so hard to comprehend.

Definitely concerned about long term effects but also concerned about heart problems that manifest in the short term. As well as extreme side effects like DH experienced. We are still planning on moving unless the restrictions become such that they needed it for more than just school.

I wasn’t calling anyone out here specifically. But the posts I have seen on social media people act like vaccines are not mandated today and this is a whole new concept. No one is saying i’m OK with other vaccines not just this one. All I keep seeing is how no one‘s going to tell me what I’m putting in my kids body; guess what they already do if the go to school I’m NY.
So yes I question if they even realize that other vaccines are mandated that there are no religious exemptions because I also see people thinking if they go to Catholic school they won’t have to do it. So I stand by my statement.

What I still find ironic parents are now all up in arms about mandates saying how no one‘s going to tell them what to put in there kid etc etc but there are already vaccine mandates required for schools. I get it it’s new and they are only against this one etc etc but I really wonder how many actually realize there are mandates now where they recently changed it with no religious exemption.
They wouldn’t realize it because these parents never used religious exemptions, they were not in the need to do it.

Its not the point as they got it and they are dong fine. There are no long term studies on how the shot will effect them. There are vaccines that are mandated for schools but they have been out for a while and they are worked into the child's life from birth forward. This "shot" is being shoved down our throats for this mad rush to get everyone vaccinated. With Covid things have changed everyday and frankly I don't feel confidant that this would be the best for my child. I think its unfair that they are forcing people to take this shot at the rate of speed that they are pushing and not considering anything else. People has existing medical issues that could be concerning in conjunction with this shot. People have antibodies but that is just ignored and not even considered. Yes there is religious consideration just because the Pope okay's it doesn't mean that other religious people have there out reasons. Revelations 13 you will be made to take the mark of the beast and without it you will not be able to conduct commerce. Isn't that what is happening in NYC no shot no business. I truly feel if you want to protect your kids that is great, but people that don't should be able to make that decision too. They originally said Vaccine was 90.6% effective for kids but Covid survival is like 99% why would give an unkown, unproven poison to my kid.
More than the side effects than can present soon after vaccination, I’d be more worried about the side effects that can manifest later in life, those are way harder to track back to vaccines. Things like autoimmune diseases, cancers, neurological problems, allergies, etc. So if a person is “fine” now that’s not guarantee it won’t manifest later in life. It has happened with other vaccines and looking by the side effects that are manifesting now, it can definitely happen with these covid vaccines as well. That’s my concern. And regarding to what the pope said, I don’t go by what he says, frankly there are a lot of things in the catholic church that don’t necessarily align with the Bible so I go by what the Bible says.

And to get over the confusion this is not a vaccine. So to say other parents have vaccinated their child in order to go to school is true again vaccines that have been around for a while and given over a period of 12 years. This is a new, unproven shot that apparently you need to keep getting boosters this is NO way a vaccine that provides immunity!

Total agree. I follow the Bible so to make light of a religious exemption is just wrong
Plus the Pope okays many things that are not approved of in the bible. There is more then one religion with different beliefs. The Pope isn't the only say in this matter!
