When WILL it ever be safe to go to a wedding again? I feel bad for these brides. Almost 2 years in and a vaccine and people are still scared to attend their wedding.
I guess elopements will be big in the future...

It really is. We just saw the bride we went to the wedding and she commented how it was so nice to have a normal wedding.
I feel like some people will be lose out on so much in life because they are scared. Especially if you have a vaccine. I wonder if all the stress makes people sick and the ones who are not worrying about it, no matter vaccinated or not are fine.

Personally I think anyone who is having a wedding right now (or did before when they started allowing them) is a little nuts. Unless they have to or else they are out a ton of money, I don’t know. Just seems out of touch. Who would even be in the mood to get married during all of this? Then you have guests who won’t be attending or worrying about attending, doubting if they should go, like we see posters here asking. Worst case is your special day becomes a super spreader.
Like why not just wait? Then again, I think some women just need to have a day to have all attention on them that nothing, not even a pandemic, will stop it.

I hear what you’re saying. If I was going to lose my money because I booked before all this went down, I’d probably suck it up and do it.
As far as when will a wedding be OK, it sounds like people are doing them now successfully for the most part. But it does seem to be causing some stress because some people are getting tested before, after.
I plan on attending one as of now. It seems that they planned it when things were really looking up and looking better. But now things aren’t looking good. Concerts are starting to cancel. I’m getting flashbacks to last year. For the wedding, I’m going to be wearing a mask the entire time. I’m not looking forward to it as a guest. I’m not going to be fully present and I’m going to be so stressed before and after. I don’t sound like a fun guest to have at a wedding, right? 
If it were me, I would see how fall and winter plays out and maybe see about spring and summer of next year.

Weddings are not just for women and many have waited and feel the time is right. I don’t feel like anyone felt uneasy at the wedding we went to. That was the first weekend the mandate was lifted at catering halls too.
Most events don’t end up as super spreaders. That is just the media pushing that to scare people to stop living.

You might just be the only person wearing a mask. Have you not gone anyplace with crowds at all?

I saw something on Instagram about a music festival in Vegas this past weekend. It was packed. They did require proof of vaccination or negative test result to attend but I didn't see one mask in any picture as it was all a poolside type thing

CoViD is the perfect excuse NOT to attend a wedding. Especially if I have to travel all that way, wear a mask or be vaccinated, etc.

I went to a cousin's wedding in June and it was literally as if COVID never happened....it was outdoors, under a tent, by the water. They stipulated on the invite that you needed a COVID test or vaccination card for entry, but no one was asked to for either and NO GUESTS were in masks. Kissing, hugging like there was no COVID. The servers wore masks, but none of the guests. Honestly I was so surprised, but it was before the Delta variant became widespread.

Central Park was packed but you did have to show your proof of vaccination.

Especially vacations. Every trip I took this summer was pre Covid crowds and filled to capacity towns and normal life.

Same here. Been out all summer with crowds and people and in restaurants and driving around seeing how many people are out and about.

When both couples announced their dates, my thought was, " finally, things are back to normal, we're all vaccinated, of course I'll go." I am a little more hesitant now, because things are getting worse again, but I will still go.
The September one is an outdoor ceremony & the reception is a dinner, not a full-on dancing party. They have a lot of out of state guests, and as far as I know, no one has cancelled.
I do feel bad for couples getting married now-- they finally had a window this summer where things felt normal, so they started planning, but then things started to get concercing again.
As far as why not wait-- well they have been waiting--the April 2022 couple got engaged in 2020, so it will be a year & half by the time they get married.

I would definitely go to a wedding in Sept.
I am vaccinated and not high risk. If I get it I am not concerned that I will die or end up in the hospital like I feared last March. If someone fears that they will die or end up in the hospital then they should not go.

Exactly and why do people feel bad for the bride and groom? People are going to weddings. Fully normal weddings.

That's exactly it though, it's an EXCUSE. If you don't want to go, don't go but I am so tired of people using covid as an excuse. Just be honest about it. Same! I love weddings and all the silly things some people detest like the bouquet and garter toss. The same goes for bridal and baby showers.
