Does this mean no more masks (other than schools I guess?) for anyone, vaccinated or not?
Does this change anything on the mask front?

The State's health guidelines continue to be in effect for large-scale indoor event venues, pre-K to grade 12 schools, public transit, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes, and health care settings per CDC guidelines.

New York didn't just drop everything, the state is still requiring compliance with CDC, and unvaccinated people need to continue to wear masks. Also, the CDC said workplaces and businesses can continue to set their own guidelines which the public has to follow.

Yes this is all true.

Vaccination is not asked in most places so I am sure many who are not vaccinated won’t be wearing masks either.
It’s been 4 weeks tomorrow and numbers have been very good :)

Will unvaccinated people ever be allowed to be maskless?
If you decide to never get a Covid vaccine ever does that mean you'll be walking around in a mask until kingdom come?

Exactly. When will King Coumo allow it for unvaccinated people?

I think it’s just an unwritten thing now….wear a mask if you want and don’t wear one if you don’t want to.

You know there are those ones that will wear one until your Heinass gives them the go not to.

It just needs to end now.

What’s he waiting for? He would be an idiot to wait until the months leading up to ‘Covid season’. Now is the time to see if we have a spike.

I think there would be less resistance if he just let us make the decision. I can tell you that I would decide to wear one in certain situations if numbers were going up again during cold/flu season, and especially the holidays.

We must protected all the vaccinated people from the unvaccinated.
Sounds logical.

Didn’t he make a huge thing because NY finally reached 70% and said...”If you’re vaccinated, u don’t have to worry about the unvaccinated. U’re protected”?? I mean the dictator himself said it so what’s the big deal? Those “guidelines” need to be updated, like yesterday.

It has been 4 weeks since the mask mandate was lifted and no spikes so far. It is time.
I don’t blame anyone for wanting to wear a mask in cold season. I should have worn one at home as I have a runny nose because of my husband lol. Nothing else but a runny nose and it is so annoying.

But then in his next breath he said we are not done and schools still need to mask up.
My kid still can’t have a full graduation and no one wants to test before hand so it is still split. It is ridiculous.

Really? My school graduates 550+ kids and we’re having a full graduation with no testing required. Maybe because it’s at an open air venue? The regulations changed on Tuesday.

I went to target without a mask for the first time today and it was glorious. It looked like around 60% of people wore masks.

I will add that since our schools went full capacity in the last few weeks, strep and RSV has already gone through our household and my kids each missed a week of school. It’s interesting to see how loosening of protocols really did increase our infection rate of common childhood illness, although thankfully not Covid transmission.

Did they lift the mask mandate in your schools?

Thanks. Now I can bug my BSA Council level people to see if this means we can camp overnight. Just about everything else is open. Of course, all of the campgrounds won't be open immediately, and if they are, there's going to be a mad rush... at this point, I'll camp in an abandoned wooded lot between two houses.... I’m guess it’s a Boy Scout rule not a campground issue. I know our troop could only do outside meetings with masks. They did them at local parks.

And 6 feet apart at registers would be nice too so I don’t feel rushed to put my money and receipt away.

Correct. I have to follow BSA rules, and not all campgrounds have had the youth group camping areas open. Those are separate than the family sites, and in a different category.
