Between the aunts and in-laws passing from Covid she has . . . gone in through the back door in April 2020 (and every six weeks like clockwork since) to get her hair done, made sure to get her manicures, gone out to dinner weekly, had guests to her house - both indoor and outdoor - etc, etc. And when I refused to come to her house for a visit, she gave me attitude and told me "we are all going to die sometime" and I should just get over it and come hang out. 
How old were these people? Did they have issues before this? Did she give them covid? Do they know where they got it from?
What a disgusting thing to say. You seem to believe this ONLY kills elderly and immunocompromised people. Which is a very ignorant way to think. If you even knew the amount of very young, very healthy people who have died from this. Who the hell cares how old they were? Or what their medical history was? Old people dying is not less tragic than young people. I am sorry, you don't like being called names but you come across as a cold and callous monster who only cares about herself.
How about instead of telling me to stop watching the news, why don't you start? Because you sound like you know absolutely nothing about the reality of this. I live my life and am not living in fear. My family does more than you realize. Every doctor and scientist under the sun says that what states are currently doing is a big mistake. But VB baby knows better than anyone else and needs everything to open up now, but don't be a sheep and inject the poison into your veins...because you know...MY RIGHTS.
I watch the news and have had to stop watching so much as I probably have watched more than most. It is too much and I can see why people are in fear.
Why is it disgusting? It has been proven people who get Covid are usually older and immune comprised, over weight, diabetes, smokers and others have more of a problem.
I don’t believe that there is a huge amount of “healthy” people have died. Many don’t know they have issues until they get sick. I am not naive, just experienced in life.
Do I believe that freak deaths happen? Absolutely. I have been watching 600 lb life today and the doctor said that even the common cold could kill someone who is overweight. Ding ding. So many people are considered obese now.
Time will tell how this all works out but even the scientists don’t know about this fully so you shouldn’t put all your trust in them. I know many people who are scientists and I believe in science. I also know that they make mistakes and are working through this like everyone else.

You choose to say things like "Only I have done a ton of research and this vaccine is <insert hysteria>, people who get it are just sheep who can't think. They just follow the herd and do what they're told like a bunch of sheep. But, as long as this particular group gets the (bad? ineffective?) vaccine we can hurry up and open" (Yes, I'm not directly quoting you. I'm giving the basic gist of all your posts regarding the vaccine)

Healthy fit 40 yr old Jerry from accounting gets vaccine = definite sheep

Once again, please do not put words in my mouth. I can have my own opinion what a sheep is and being pressured by friends, family or the media IS being a sheep.

I'm glad this is being called out.
Lot of people have had their moments and it's okay - we're in a pandemic, everyone is stressed, etc.
But VB's constant stream of thinly veiled insults and endless condescension won't do anything other than bring the discourse on here to a new nadir.
Differences of opinion are fine but if we don't debate in good faith from a shared set of facts it's not really worth it.

Seriously? This is obviously a difference of opinion and we are all allowed to have that. If you notice there are others on this board who are on the same page as me. They have said over and over that they will not get the vaccine and have indicated why. Stop focusing on just me and putting words in my mouth.

You choose to say things like "Only I have done a ton of research and this vaccine is <insert hysteria>, people who get it are just sheep who can't think. They just follow the herd and do what they're told like a bunch of sheep. But, as long as this particular group gets the (bad? ineffective?) vaccine we can hurry up and open" (Yes, I'm not directly quoting you. I'm giving the basic gist of all your posts regarding the vaccine)

You're unable to see how you insult people when you refuse to get that EVERYONE’S SITUATION IS DIFFERENT and getting the vaccine is a very personal decision that people have thought long and hard about AFTER A YEAR OF THIS NONSENSE and just because someone decides to get the vaccine BASED ON THEIR OWN PERSONAL SITUATION doesn't mean they're some kind of idiot who cannot think for themselves. And if someone decides to decline the vaccine at this time BASED ON THEIR OWN PERSONAL SITUATION that doesn't mean they're some kind of idiot who cannot think for themselves. I'm glad this is being called out.

But VB's constant stream of thinly veiled insults and endless condescension won't do anything other than bring the discourse on here to a new nadir.
Differences of opinion are fine but if we don't debate in good faith from a shared set of facts it's not really worth it.

C. Based on the fact that you can't even come down off your horse to respond to my neutral statement or admit to your glaringly-obvious-to-anyone inconsistencies and walking contradictions ?it's obvious you thrive on your behavior.
D. You think a police officer or teacher choosing to get the vaccine is a sheep because they feel pressured to and they're less informed than you because you choose differently.

Seriously? This is obviously a difference of opinion and we are all allowed to have that. If you notice there are others on this board who are on the same page as me. They have said over and over that they will not get the vaccine and have indicated why. Stop focusing on just me and putting words in my mouth.
My saying that nobody is better than anyone else for making the choices they make is a difference of opinion? It should be the standard thought process and thinking the opposite - that you are somehow better or more informed - is why everything is so divided.
Yes, other people have said they choose not to get the vaccine. Just like others have said they've chosen to get it. I respect everyone's decision regardless of their reasoning. You're the one saying anyone who doesn't think like you is a sheep.

You choose to say things like "Only I have done a ton of research and this vaccine is <insert hysteria>, people who get it are just sheep who can't think. They just follow the herd and do what they're told like a bunch of sheep. But, as long as this particular group gets the (bad? ineffective?) vaccine we can hurry up and open" (Yes, I'm not directly quoting you. I'm giving the basic gist of all your posts regarding the vaccine)
Old lady with health issues gets vaccine = not a sheep?
Healthy fit 40 yr old Jerry from accounting gets vaccine = definite sheep
You're unable to see how you insult people when you refuse to get that EVERYONE’S SITUATION IS DIFFERENT and getting the vaccine is a very personal decision that people have thought long and hard about AFTER A YEAR OF THIS NONSENSE and just because someone decides to get the vaccine BASED ON THEIR OWN PERSONAL SITUATION doesn't mean they're some kind of idiot who cannot think for themselves. And if someone decides to decline the vaccine at this time BASED ON THEIR OWN PERSONAL SITUATION that doesn't mean they're some kind of idiot who cannot think for themselves. My choice to receive or decline the vaccine at this time does not make me any more intelligent or thoughtful than someone who chooses the opposite - who may choose to receive the vaccine because they're a front line worker at a supermarket or bus driver who hasn't had the privilege to stop working with the public this whole time, someone who's been working from the comfort of home this whole time, a nurse, a teacher, a police officer, a stay at home mom, someone who's been hiding at home for a year and gets everything delivered, someone who's elderly or sick, someone who's healthy but is a caregiver to their elderly or sick, etc. And my personal choice doesn't make me any more intelligent or thoughtful than someone who chooses to sit this one out for whatever personal reason they've chosen to do so BASED ON THEIR PERSONAL SITUATION. I'm glad this is being called out.
Lot of people have had their moments and it's okay - we're in a pandemic, everyone is stressed, etc.
But VB's constant stream of thinly veiled insults and endless condescension won't do anything other than bring the discourse on here to a new nadir.
Differences of opinion are fine but if we don't debate in good faith from a shared set of facts it's not really worth it.
Seriously? This is obviously a difference of opinion and we are all allowed to have that. If you notice there are others on this board who are on the same page as me. They have said over and over that they will not get the vaccine and have indicated why. Stop focusing on just me and putting words in my mouth.
My saying that nobody is better than anyone else for making the choices they make is a difference of opinion? It should be the standard thought process and thinking the opposite - that you are somehow better or more informed - is why everything is so divided.
Yes, other people have said they choose not to get the vaccine. Just like others have said they've chosen to get it. I respect everyone's decision regardless of their reasoning. You're the one saying anyone who doesn't think like you is a sheep.

I get size of district varies, but after a year accommodations should be made where needed to bring all kids back to full time. And it's the job of our elected officials to come up with that plan. It's long overdue.
I have no doubt that this all comes down to money and resources. I don't think poorer districts have the means to make the necessary accommodations in order to open full time.

I do think it's a factor in some schools along with countless other reasons. The good news is, I think by September this will be a non-issue. I gave up any expectations for the 2020/2021 school year and I'm looking ahead to September. 
Many are starting to open so hopefully many will before June.
I am so glad I will be done this year. These kids are losing out on so much.
It wouldn’t affect me personally in any way but I do feel and my heart breaks for those parents and their kids that are really struggling. Let’s hope all schools open FT by Sep, it’s about time!

Im confused by this whole exchange. Someone asked what about elderly and immune compromised folks. People and I believe VB stated they should get the shot.
If I am following your logic, are you saying people who don’t want this vaccine can’t say that the elderly and immune compromised should get the shot to protect themselves? If they are that scare of the virus then get the the damn shot.
People on this thread are saying we are killing society by not getting this shot and we need to protect others but it’s ok if the elderly and the ones mostly effected don’t get it? Why do I have to protect others who dont want to get it themselves?
At the end of the days it’s everyone choice and let’s be honest everyone is self serving in some capacity. I wish people would stop using the “I’m doing this for the greater good”. No you aren’t!! You are ultimately doing this and making your choice for yourself and your family first. It’s human instinct. And it’s OKAY!
YOU are scared of the virus or YOU want things to to open so YOU can get back to normal. YOU don’t fear the implications of the vaccine, so YOU don’t care if you get it. Don’t kid yourself thinking YOU are any better than anyone because you choose to get the vaccine right now.
