Thanks everyone. I get he can’t go to school which doesn’t matter cause the whole class is quarantined but I don’t think it’s fair to make them have to stay in for 10 days where they can’t go and do anything! You can’t even test out which is bullshittt. So we can test out when we travel but not for school.
This is my problem with the rules they make 0 sense!!!!!
FTR I have been following and listening to them all even if I don’t agree with them but I am not officially over the inconsistency.
As long as they aren’t going to arrest me or take my kid I’m doing what I want.
Also I have complained several times to the school and I will again now why they keep quarantining the whole class.
They aren't going to arrest you. These are not laws despite what they want us to believe.
Do what you need to do. Seems to me, judging by how you described your personal situation, your son is no risk to anyone
If someone reports you - you can be fined but, that's about it.
It has baffled me the whole time how the state DOH makes the rules and there is such a wide range of interpretation across the state. I was so mad everytime kids were quarantined/school was shut when my family on LI went every day and didn't close for cases.
And unless an authority catches you in the act, a Karen reporting you means nothing. I'd just say Karen is lying because she doesn't like me from the PTA. He said/she said at that point
My DD has had to quarantine twice (once her whole class, once her after school pod). I didn't take her out because I was afraid we'd run into someone from the school at Trader Joes or wherever and report us. The chances of an asymptomatic, masked child transmitting Covid by walking past a masked adult is essentially 0 and yet here I am, cowering in fear that some birdbrain step ford wife is going to turn me in.

I'm curious did you get a call about exposure from someone at the DOH or was it just the school who notified you?

Both which is what made me lose my shittt. Cause it’s dumb. I just got a other call too! Funny thing is I never got a call a few weeks ago when the same class had to quarantine again. Why probably cause they were too busy!!
The way they are handling this is horrible. Makes no sense or I just didn’t realize covid knows what zip codes to skip
