Does anyone know which vaccine is being given out at Jones Beach? (I believe Pfizer, but am not sure)

and the Aqueduct?

It is a scheduling issue that I need to know before booking appts. 21 days v. 28 days

I can't find the info online.

Thank you!

UPDATE

They postponed my husband's appointment to Wednesday! So no problem with the second dose now !

Re: COVID Vaccine

A friend of mine booked her second appointment at Aqueduct, and she said that when she was making the appointment, the system asked which one she had the first dose of. I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I hope it can help!

You don't have to book your second appt. They do it for you when you go for your first dose.

COVID Vaccine

Is Aqueduct NYC? I believe all NYC vaccination hubs are giving Moderna. I went to a NYC hub and received Moderna on January 15th. They have you make your 2nd appointment before you leave.

Thanks for the replies.

Let's say you have an appt. for January 30th. Depending on which vaccine you receive, will dictate the 2nd dose appt. date.

Pfizer....2nd dose.....Jan. 20th (unavailable)

Moderna....2nd dose....Jan. 27th (available)

so that is the issue and why I need to know which vaccine.

And the Aqueduct is a NYS Hub....so I'm leaning towards Pfizer....but of course, not 100% sure.

the thing is though- when you go, they give you the appt for the 2nd dose. My dad went and that is how it happened. I think maybe they have spots held for second doses that are not on the website because he had no issue getting one in the correct time frame .
I don't think they would let you get the 1st dose and just hope for the best that an appt would be available online for the 2nd one.
Everyone I know who has gotten it so far had no issues with getting their second dose in the proper time frame- and they were given that 2nd appt when they went for their first shot

I think you mean Feb, right?

They book the second appt for you based on the type of vaccine and the necessary time in between. You don't need to book the second appt.

They will give you a card indicating which vaccine you were administered, and give you an appointment to come back. I am sure they will give you the same vaccine, as indicated on your card.

I think the OP means the SHE is unavailable on the date the 2nd dose of Pfizer would be scheduled, not that an appointment isn't available

I don't think it has to be exactly 3 or 4 weeks later. As long as it's in a range, you're good. So if you have to go back 5 weeks later, it's OK.

If this helps, there is some flexibility with date. I am due for the second dose on 2/9 (Moderna), but was given the option of either 2/9 or 2/13 to return.

Re: COVID Vaccine

I just went to JB Saturday.

They gave me Pfizer and the return date was dictated to me. Not sure if you can request differently. They were very nice and helpful so maybe they could work with you.

My husband has one for Jan. 30th so his 2nd dose should be on Feb 20th. We are not going to be able to do that day. The 21st (22 days after the 1st dose) would be great!

I had an original appt. At a doctor's office on January 16th but couldn't do it because they make you come back exactly 28 days later (Moderna). So I would want to know before he goes to Jones Beach.

my husband is having a similar issue because all of this is overlapping with jury duty. . .but I think he has a little more flexibility because he is getting it through work.

Did they give you your next appt for Saturday? I heard from someone early on at JB the 2nd vaccine was the same day of the week and time as the first. I am hoping this is still the case.

Yes, they did. Three weeks to the day, same time.

Not everywhere does. I have at least 2 family members (including a doctor!) that had to seek out their own 2nd appt.

Unless possibly the process has gotten better now, as they had gone a few weeks ago.
