Re: So disgusted with the vaccine distribution

I think we all can agree that we knew this would not be a perfect roll out. One of the big issues I see is that there was this big push to encourage vaccination, the public sees healthcare workers proudly stepping up to get it and, now that there is a short supply, you are going to see panic that it can't be received. It really is a shi!t show.

Also, side note, my BFF is a vaccinated health care worker and tested positive for COVID today. Sooooo.....yeah, there's that too. I'm curious to see if her symptoms will be less becasue she is vaccinated.

So my father in law tested positive for the 3rd time since spring- about a week or so after he got the first dose of the vaccine.
So either the test was wrong, which I am leaning towards because come on, 3 times in that short a time span? And he had no symptoms.
Or, is it possible the vaccine might make you test positive for a while after getting it? I was curious about that after they said he tested positive and he just had the vaccine.
Does your friend have any symptoms?

I agree with you for the most part (I have elderly parents with conditions), but teachers are kind of front line workers. I don’t know any facts about it spreading in schools, so no comment there. I don’t know what the right answer is, really, but I am angry.

The thing that really pisses me off is they included 1b and now they can’t fulfill that. The whole trying to get an appointment is not elderly friendly.

Yeah I mean we can't have it both ways. So many people on this board were angry and frustrated with school closings and desperately wanted their kids in school... well now they're in school and the teachers, nurses, essential workers who have kept us afloat for the past year DESERVE this vaccination if they want it. My FIL is high risk and I really want him to go get vaccinated, but he's not eligible until 1C.

But you're right, it's very frustrating that they rolled out part 1B and don't have the facilities/appointments to let anyone in 1B actually get it. I feel like there's a lot of locations in the works but they should've been working on this months ago.

ETA: And I like that people are posting when they get the vaccine. It gives me an opportunity to ask what their experience was like from real life people that I know and trust. That might make the difference between someone deciding to get the shot or not.

So disgusted with the vaccine distribution

I didn't read most of the previous posts but I just need to vent! This system SUCKS!!!! I literally have been on since 8 am and every single time I get through I get booted. I am ready to throw my computer out the window.

Just to add a note about the teachers. They should have been right behind first responders and if the Governor had any sense what so ever he would have just given out the vaccines to each school district. Give them a schedule and hand them out. I was trying to log in for my dad on my cell phone waiting for my daughter to get picked up by her aide and they said they have just given up at the school because it is so hard to get an appointment. It is total BS.

Yes. She said she feels like she has a bad head cold. When i spoke to her, she sounded very stuffy. No fever. My SIL also has it right now and she is saying the same thing. Like it’s a miserable cold. She’s on Day 5-6 where my friend is like day 2.

I’m not sure when She got the second shot but I do not believe it’s been 2 weeks.

I guess maybe she hadn't reached full immunity after the second shot when she got exposed. Or she's in the unlucky 5% that it's not effective in. That would be my luck!
But maybe if she just has cold symptoms the shot helped her get a milder case.
