I once had a virus that made me spike 103 fevers. What helped was piggybacking motrin and Tylenol. Also a cool wet washcloth on my neck, chest, forehead etc.

I can’t take Advil , I’m allergic to ibuprofen. Plus they still aren’t sure if it’s ok to use with covid.
The wash cloth is next. Yesterday I was in just a T-shirt allowing my body to cool. I said I was channeling my inner Eve (my mom) who used to never allow us to bundle up when we had a fever to help the heat escape. She also used to dip socks in alcohol and water and put them on your feet and rub your whole body down with it. I have PTSD of shivering from fever and her rubbing that all
Over me lol I can’t believe that was a thing !
Haha, this totally reminds me of my grandmother who used to lather us in rubbing alcohol when we were sick! Hope you feel better!

Mini update: not about symptoms so I’m not numbering it (they are the same btw)
I feel for those of you who get really sick and have small children to tend to. We have an almost 15 year old min pin who pinched a nerve in his neck the other day and I walking like a hunch back crying. And an almost 7 month old Jack russell mix puppy who is a Fuck1ng lunatic. A 20 lbs puppy jumping on and off of you when you are burning up in pain is torture. We keep creating him to get breaks but that just makes him more nuts.
I keep saying omg what if we were able to have kids and we had a couple of them running around needing stuff. I couldn’t even imagine
I hope you and your Dh get better soon!
When my dh and i had covid back in April, our 2 young kids definitely made it difficult to rest. I particularly remember my 4 year old waking me up super early demanding pancakes, and my 7 year old begging us to help her learn to ride her bike by holding her up on the bike and running along side her, on the day we were having a hard time breathing. She couldn't seem to understand why we couldn't help her. But we got through it. And you will too. We actually adopted a jack russel mix recently as well, and he has an unstoppable amount of energy, so I know what that is like! Might actually be more of a handful than kids! Good luck!

Aw God I hope you feel better soon. This is really no joke. I get the flu practically annually so I know how miserable you must feel but the lack of smell and taste must be so annoying. Feel better!

You may be right w him being more of a handful than kids! Lol
After I wrote this mini update, my older dog had the runs on (really off the side of) and all over his wee wee pad. For that moment, I was grateful to not be able to smell.

It’s torture. Truth is every time I get sick, even with a cold, I lose sense of smell and taste. It usually lasts 2 days and then it’s back. Not this time.
And my wonderful neighbor keeps making us dinner and dropping it on the steps. I can’t taste it but I told her it feels so good going down. Feels like love and hope.
Plus knowing anything she makes is always delicious, I just imagine it as I eat it.

I don’t think I’ve ever peed this much in my life! Yes. I’m drinking constantly. The fever and the meds make me so thirsty I can’t even keep up.
DH is fighting the fevers a bit more than I am (for now) but still no cough for him so I’m hoping he’s out of the woods for that part of this.

I wish it was going easier for you. Last thing you need now is panic attacks. Hopefully, the Xanax helps and you can start resting instead of worrying. (Easy for me to say)

Thanks to everyone who’s still reading. It helps me a lot of write about it. I also want people to see what having covid is like for me and my DH. Everyone is so very different. My brother was asymptomatic. My other brother just tested positive a couple days ago. He’s had decently high fevers but that’s it so far.
I’ve been keeping a video diary each day a d it’s scary to see the progression when I watch them. Tonight’s video I’m a. Little loopy from the Xanax but thank god I have it.
I’ll keep updating as we go. Be safe everyone. Let’s hope the numbers start to drop now that the holidays are over
