Finally back, but found last night's episode boring. So Kate had closure after all these years. I would've just seen he was a loser and left.
They are always all so melancholy. I was saying that to DH last night. I get it's a show, but come on... we're all depressed nowadays with Covid and all. I need something good! LOL
I find Kevin and Madison's relationship awkward. There's nothing there. No chemistry. I liked her better when she was just Kate's friend.
And now a whole new story with Randall's mom. Ok... I don't get it, but hope it goes somewhere.
I wish he could tell Kevin needed him last night too.
Ok... said my peace. LOL I know it's a show, but was expecting more after the long break.
I agree.
I wish they would have left Randall's mother's story alone. Why does everyone have to have a big secret? It's like the same story over and over just with a different character.

I thought last night's episode was pretty good, but the Kevin/Madison story line was annoying. They are so "black & white" about everything. Either Kevin keeps his career and Madison and the babies have to travel everywhere with him, or they won't be together? Seems a bit drastic to me. How about they compromise, see how things go - like if Kevin has to travel for a movie shoot, they visit, or even just stay home - tons of people travel for work A LOT and can sustain a marriage or relationship.
And Kate going to see her ex-bf - really? Seemed too dramatic for me
But I did like the story line about Randall finding info about his mother - maybe that will give him closure that he seems to be seeking.

Agree. I especially HATE the storyline with Randall's mom.

I actually like the Randall's mom story line.
The Madison & Kevin story line bores me because it is basically the Randall & Beth story line form when he first was elected to city council.
This episode was a littler weird because it was light on flashback ( mostly only Kate's, with very little Jack) and didn't focus on the family as a whole that much, but that does happen from time to time.

I found it odd that Kate wanted to track down the ex bf down and find him in person. I found that storyline to be silly.
I'm hoping if Randall gets closure about his mom, a lot of his issues will shift into place and he can become more healed and move forward with his own family now. I've been hating the resentment he is laying on them after all this time and the disconnect between the siblings.
I find Madison to be incredibly annoying. Why wouldn't she want to travel with her successful, hot husband?!? Plus, lots of partners stay behind and raise the kids in one place while the other partner still travels. Why is she making it like he needs to quit his job and be a devoted stay at home dad or something? I find her thinking to be bizarre. She seems to have a lot of issues. When Kevin is stepping up and putting 100% of himself into her and the twins...

Agreed, I can definitely see someone cyberstalking an ex, but to actually go to their place of work? After 20 years?? And Myspace? At least say FB if you want it to seem authentic. So bizarre. I would have been content to see he ended up a loser and move on.
As with all shows in time, it is starting to get boring and jump the shark.

Yes. so annoying...
While This Is Us is taking a short break, the show returns in just a couple weeks... You can catch up with Kevin, Kate and Randall when This Is Us debuts a new episode on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 9/8c.
WE HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG....  Covid is so annoying!!!!

Finally a new episode. Kinda slow for me, but I like kevin and like to see how he's trying to be more like his dad.
I don't know why, but not a fan of Madison. I did like her bc she seemed more fun and real, but now not so much. And why don't you have any other friends or family?!
And I hope things go smooth with Kate's girl bc it's getting dragged on so much. I need something good. Especially with everything going on in the world.

I liked this episode.I feel like there were plot holes with international travel & quarantine, but the end with Randall & Beth calling Madison was really sweet & I liked character development for Kevin.

BTW - Madison looks too good for just having twins. LOL! I don't look like that on a regular day.
Also Rebecca looks great for triplets.
I had one and didn't look that good. Heck, I don't look that good now.

Good point! Never thought of that, but yeah, silly of him to do that. (and the only reason I know that's his wife is because Dan is the cousin of a good friend of mine. She was at their wedding)
