Color help
I’ve been in my house 9 years. Have done very little to it and I need a pick me up. I’m contemplating painting the walls in my bathroom because I hate the pink.....but at least it’s “put together” so to speak. Is there a more modern color that could work with this tile and vanity? I have gold fixtures (ugh) but not in a position to change that right now. Should I just live with this still or anything to be done? Hmmm have no idea how to add pics here so I’ll post in my profile I guess??!

I think you can do a grey in there.
That's more modern for sure and it's pretty neutral.
I'd go with a light grey.
I used BM Abalone in my hall and kitchen.
In my bathroom, I used BM moonshine.
Grey Owl is also very close to that.
The thing with grey though is that it can look way different in every room. Sometimes it will pull green, sometimes lavender, sometimes blue. Depends on the lighting etc Finding a true grey is hard.
I'd get a few swatches though.

THanks....I thought of a grey, but the vanity has a pinkish hue to it (or maybe it just plays off that way more becuase of the current walls??) so I wasnt sure about how that would play out. I'll get a few swatches of the colors you suggested...its a place to start!

I would do benjamin moore sterling walls and would look into refinishing the vanity too! You can def paint the vanity white too

I would also suggest painting the vanity. I just painted mine a medium grey color (was a honey oak). Amazing the difference some paint makes!

Was it hard to redo the vanity? The va it’s has a matching mirror too. I hate it all but I feel like it could be daunting to do. And I’m not sure it’s wood...maybe Formica? Ugh

I had to laugh at your mention of gold fixtures. I'm not personally a fan but they're back in style. We're gutting two bathrooms and my husband has brought this to my attention. So if you can tolerate them maybe you can make them work with some other updates.

The vanity reminds me of the kitchen cabinets I had in my old house. They were actually a pretty high quality wood but had a weird pinkish tone to them. They also had gold hardware, which I switched out for wrought iron and it looked a lot better- not amazing, but a lot better! I'd try something simple like that before undertaking sanding/painting the vanity.

Grey is really out. Blues and decorator White are the new trendy colors. But the thing is, you are the one who is going to live with it, so paint what ever color makes you happy. I would paint it Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore.

THIS -- when I mentioned last night that maybe we should paint them, he told me he thinks the vanity (and matching mirror) are actually expensive/high quality and we'd "ruin it" by attempting to paint it.........guess I'll have to play around with the walls only :)

Change the knobs! Seriously, it can make SUCH a difference for like $20.

Who cares if it ruins the wood if you hate it anyway. My sisters kitchen was like that and they painted them white. It’s like night and day.
I agree with gray walls. I’d go a darker gray Instead of light to draw more attention to them, paint vanity white and get new fixtures / knobs. It’ll be like a brand new bathroom. Do the walls and fixtures / knobs first. Vanity may show more gray tones once the gray is on the wall. You may be fine with it then
