wedding dress
DH & I just got married in September & my wedding dress is just hanging in our guest bedroom.
Can you share what you did with your dress after your wedding?

I brought it to my local cleaner. Cleaned and preserved in a big box sitting in the back of my guestroom closet for 9 years
If we would have had children, my plan was to use it to make their baptism outfits.

mine has been sitting in the bag it came in!! I never went to get it preserved and I don't even think it was brought in to be dry cleaned 
its been 11 years!!!! 
I know I am horrible!!
I almost was going to finally bring it in and get it dried cleaned and have a dress made for my DD then I changed my mind lol.
At this point it will probably be tossed!!!!
so I am no help!!! but most people get its preserved I guess to either hand down to their children or use it for their children's baptism or communion outfits !!
??

Mine was dry cleaned, but I didn’t preserve it. I kept it in the garment bag and tucked it into a big plastic storage tub. It’s in my attic.

I didn't dry clean it or preserve it. For a while, it was just hanging in a closet. Then, I put it in a big Rubbermaid container and it's in the attic.

You aren't alone! I don't even know where it is. LOL
Oh Thank God I'm not the only one. 10 years- It's in the bag it came in in my closet. I even wore it to the beach for a TTD shoot and never cleaned it. 
But I took it out to show my daughter and it looks perfectly fine so oh well.

While on my honeymoon, my parents had my gown dry cleaned, preserved, boxed, and shrink wrapped. It is on the top shelf of my closet, and has been there for 15 years.

Ha! Mine is in a plastic garment bag and had fallen off the hanger so it was on the floor for who knows how long. I don’t even know where it is in my new house. It’s definitely not in the closet. The movers could have lost it for all I know.
I suppose I could clean it and donate it....if I ever find it.

Omg I’m so happy to hear that I’m not the only one!!!
I’m pretty sure I ended up throwing mine out when we moved because it was just crumpled up in the bottom of my closet.

My mom taught herself how to preserve dresses and did it for me. It's in my basement. I haven't done anything with it, but I like having it as a reminder of her artwork! DH and I have a small house, but when we expand/buy a house with more space, I think I would display it somewhere.

Preserved and in a box. I wanted to see if it would still fit last year, but then I realized that I would "break the seal," and perhaps ruin the preservation.
