hotels on tripadvisor on LI with some shady reviewers
been doing some research for family who needs to stay in LI at a hotel/motel. I started on tripadvisor, noticed many have 5 star glowing reviews from a person with 1 review. Hmmmmmm pretty shady!

There are definitely some hotels/motels that are better than others. Where are they looking to stay?
The big chains are usually a safer bet.

I've been having iffy experiences with Marriot during the pandemic. I hear better things from the Hilton chain.

I have had good experiences with the Marriott/Starwood chain during the pandemic (we only stay there and have stayed at a few as we are Gold Elite and have points)

I always go with a major chain no matter what. But as far as the actual chain- the hotels are independently run so the service varies greatly.

We stayed at the Hampton inn in RVC when we lost power due to Isaias and it felt super clean and was a nice hotel. Would def recommend to anyone. Pool was closed due to covid but they still have out free breakfast.
