I always get it in a "murphy's law" kind of trying to fend off any problems, like, if I didn't get it my phone would break on day two.  I'm one of those people who if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all though.
I will say, I've had a number of iphones over the years, all with apple care, and I've only had to use it twice, both for the same phone, and both for the same battery issue. It's worth it to me, for peace of mind.

Apple care?
I just crushed, not broke, crushed the screen. So bad the touch screen stopped working and have the screen did not illuminate. Coast me $29 to fix cause of it!!!! The phone was an 11pro 5 months old!
