Scrubs?
Anyone have a good brand of scrubs that you recommend?
ETA: Also, if you work in a school, are you planning on wearing them when you go back?

I’m just going to wear clothes that can be washed in hot water. From what I read, scrubs are unnecessary.

No, I am not wearing scrubs to work. I am not spending the $$ on them, I know they are pricey, although they would be comfy and I wouldnt have to decide what to wear.

Scrubs?
Scrubs are not appropriate for a classroom. They need to be washed just like regular clothing and have no magical germ repealing properties. As for being comfortable it really depends on your size because they are not always a great fit. Children (at least mine) associate scrubs with healthcare workers. Get some inexpensive machine washable clothing.

I also have some bottoms that are Vera Bradley those are pretty good as well. If you are spending the money though, Figs is the best. I sometimes wore business casual depending on the day at work or if I had meetings. Since COVID and going forward it’s scrubs only. I change into a garbage bag at work and dump it into the wash when getting home.
Also look into Clorox fabric spray for clothes/ seat in the car. And shoes something croc material because you can wash/ bleach them.

Many teachers are planning on doing this as regular clothes can harbor particles from the virus more than scrubs. They’re also easier to clean. I’ll be able to run a wash everyday as opposed to waiting to take certain clothes to the dry cleaners.

If you wear your scrubs home yes. I think it’s a crapshoot sometimes. Initially there was research that the virus lived in clothes up to 9 hours, I’ve heard different though and now it’s supposedly not so much. My routine this whole time is get dressed for work, zip lock clean clothes before leaving for work and put in my work bag and bring a garbage back with me. Strip head to toe into the garbage bag at work and then put on clothes and exit the unit (I’m on an office side so no patient contact when exiting) Then I change my shoes when I get to my car before getting in the car and bag up my shoes which get bleached (crocs). I dump the garbage bag into my washing mashing and clean on hot with laundry sanitizer and detergent and shower when I get home. It’s probably extreme at this point but I have 2 small toddlers one with as asthma so I don’t want to chance it. It’s not just COVID it’s other stuff you can pick up on clothes (at least for me in the hospital) I always changed and showered coming home from work now I just don’t walk in inside my work clothes which I’ll likely continue into the future.
I think if people are concerned with bringing stuff home scrubs are a great option but it’s also about changing before coming in and washing them.
also washing things on hot and sanitize isn’t usually good for work clothes/ dresses so scrubs allow for that option. That’s the main benefit. Being able to wash and use a higher cycle than delicate clothes

Totally understand where you are coming from! I’ve been in the same boat working in the hospital during this. Don’t want to bring home anything to my husband or small kids. I wrote above my probably crazy to most, changing and cleaning after work

Yes, the large NYC hospital system I work for is doing tons of Covid research and has everyone back to wearing business casual unless scrubs are part of you normal dress code. During the peak of Covid scrubs were mandated and washed on site for people with patient contact.

Scrubs?
I know teachers who are planning to wear a lab coat over their clothes, so that it can be easily changed if someone sneezes/coughs/etc, and can provide a layer over their nicer clothes.
I also know many teachers who will be wearing face shields along with their masks, and teachers who teach specials who will be wearing gloves.

I’m all for being cautious, but this just seems a little over the top. Fabric is fabric...if you want easy to launder clothes, just buy some regular cotton tops and pants.

I'm curious as to what makes scrubs not appropriate in a classroom. I am being told I have to go into somewhere between 9-10 classrooms a day of children where there is not enough room to socially distance for me but the kids are spaced apart, where the students will be taking masks off to eat (oh but no indoor dining allowed). I will be wearing a KN95 mask (unless or until I can find N95's), a cloth mask over it, a headband where I can attach said mask, a face shield, my hair in a pony tail (possibly covered not sure yet), gloves, scrubs and a lab coat. I am sorry if this makes your children uncomfortable but I am going to do what I need to in order to protect myself and my family. I also will be standing in a corner near an open window and not going near a single child. If this doesn't work for you please feel free to keep your children home.
