Naya Rivers from Glee is missing and presumed dead
I never watched Glee but this story is so eerie and sad. Her 4yr old was found sleeping alone in their boat rental 3 hrs after she had rented it. They suspended the search last night, and will resume it today.

That is so so scary and strange.
So seems like she rented a boat with just her and the 4 year old, they went out on the lake, went swimming and she got into trouble and drowned?
But the child- who was in a life vest- made it back onto the boat and fell asleep?
I never like swimming alone with my DD. I always feel like what if I drown or pass out or something. I always like someone else to be with us
But I'm crazy like that.
What an awful story.

Maybe I watch too many true crime shows, but this story just seems very odd/suspicious. Unfortunately, I don't think it will turn out well

I wonder if she went back out after her son was on board. Although, not sure why you'd leave your 4yo alone.
Someone posted this on a gossip site: "I read comments on her Instagram, and a girl that lives in that area commented that lake is known to have underwater whirlpools that have caused drownings before. Her life vest was found on the boat with her son. Such a shame she didn't have it on!"

Possibly, but why would you leave a chance of your child possibly falling overboard? Seems like a weird way to disappear or kill yourself.

Possibly, but why would you leave a chance of your child possibly falling overboard? Seems like a weird way to disappear or kill yourself.
I thought this for a second because she didn't have her life jacket on. But maybe she was a strong swimmer.
It's a little odd she left her son on the boat alone to go for a swim but I guess that't why we have accidents. Her son said that he went back on the boat but mommy didn't come back.

I find this all a little suspicious. Did the boy cry and scream? Is that why he passed out/was sleeping only 3 hours after they left? I just find it strange you think he would be sad or anxious and not be able to sleep... I mean how soon into it did she fall in and get swept away? Yes, the son was wearing a life vest and essentially floating but how was he able to swim and climb back on board? I just find this all strange.

Interesting, how I just assumed she put him back on the boat. It never crossed my mind that maybe he was went back to the boat by himself.

I read online that there are alot of whirlpools in that lake and there have been alot of drownings there...she may have got sucked in after she got him onboard..

There are many possible legitimate explanations for the child falling asleep.
That poor, poor boy. How horribly sad.

Like she killed herself?
I can't see that as a great way to kill yourself- on a boat, in the middle of a lake with your 4 year old left alone on the boat.

What I find strange is that the boy wasn’t upset, well at least they don’t report that. They just say the boy said his mom never got back into the boat. Does that mean she helped him go on the boat while staying in the water and maybe saying to him I’ll be right back, maybe she still wanted to swim without the boy in the water? I just can’t picture the boy getting on the boat by himself after not seeing his mom, wouldn’t the little boy be panicking? Either way it’s a horrible incident, I can’t even picture the mom knowing she’ll die while leaving her little boy behind, all alone. This story truly breaks my heart!

I don’t know for sure but I remember reading things in the past about her where a lot of drama was involved. Of course that’s not a great way to harm yourself (is there ever a great way??), but I think in those moments, the person is obviously not thinking clearly. At least, she got her son onboard safely.

I don't think you can drown yourself unless you tie bricks to your feet or something. There is footage of her walking to the boat, she didn't have anything like that. I do think it was a tragic accident.

Yes, it doesn’t sound crazy he was sleeping in the boat. He is only 4, he also could be in shock and not understanding what happened.
I also thought maybe he feel asleep after swimming and she went to take a dip nearby but got pulled or caught by the debris. My son took a nap on the beach the other day because he was exhausted from the sun and swimming, he’s 11.

So sad. I don't think it was deliberate. I mean it's hard to say what's going on in someones mind, but leaving your kid in danger, on a boat by himself? I feel like you'd make sure your kid is safe at least. A 4 yr old probably can't remember all the details. Even when they find her, they might not know what actually happened.

They are saying this lake has a lot underwater entanglement and her body could possibly be stuck making it difficult to find

The video shows her not even parking correctly, so far from the dock and then the son trailing behind. Maybe I was a crazy mother when my kids were that age but anywhere near water and in a parking lot, I would have them be so close to me.
I am surprised she wouldn’t take her phone as she was very much into taking IG pics of herself so I would think this would be a great opportunity to have pics of her and the son.
Very sad story overall and I hope they find her body for closure to the family.
