Another fridge question!

Currently we have a side by side fridge ( freezer on one side and fridge on the other ) but I hate that I can never fit a long tray in any of the shelves etc so am considering a fridge on top and freezer on the bottom option and probably the french door option.

Any pros or cons for this type of fridge or other recommendations?

Thank you.

Re: Another fridge question!

I do love my french door fridge with the freezer on the bottom but the one thing that I wasn't a fan of when I first got it was the freezer on the bottom is like a big dumping ground... with the side by side fridge/freezer the freezer has shelves, it's more organized and easier to find things.
I find with the bottom drawer freezer- even though there are kind of like 2 "levels" in the freezer, I have to sometimes pull everything out to find a pint of ice cream that got buried on the bottom of the larger, deeper section.
Maybe some fridges like this have a better organized freezer area than mine though, I don't know.
That's really the only con I could see.

We always had the freezer on the top. In our new house, the fridge has the freezer on the bottom. I really don't like it because it's basically one big tub. Things fall towards the bottom and it's hard to find things. You just end up piling things on top of each other. When the freezer is on the top, I feel like you can organize it better.

Plus, with the fridge, you basically know what's in there, so if you have to bend down to get something, it's OK. But, with a freezer, sometimes we forget what we put in there, so we're rummaging around the freezer, all bent over. It's just more comfortable, IMO, with a top freezer.

I love my French door fridge with freezer on bottom. In my freezer there are two drawers so it is not one big cavern. The larger portion also has a moveable divider. I like it too. We have an LG.

We have an LG too and it's been good. I try to keep things vertical so I can see what's there. We have two ice makers, a small one in the door and another in the freezer. I keep the freezer one turned off 99% of the time and use the bin to store bags of veggies. We have a counter depth so space is a commodity. They did have a model that had a slide out tray between the two drawers in the freezer which I thought was brilliant. It would be perfect for a cookie sheet or frozen pizza but it was several hundred dollars more so I didn't get it.

I have a side by side. I’ve alway found freezer on top more user friendly. I can’t fit any large trays on the fridge side, and stuff tumbles out of the freezer side. The wire shelves cracked, the flimsy things on the doors cracked. Countless time a frozen package of meat as fallen on my toe. I always liked freezer on top but freezer on bottom or side by side seem to be the popular thing now. I wish they would revamp freezer on top to have the modern features with water dispenser and ice maker and make them more stylish...

I like my side by side also but like others have said, the bottom of the freezer becomes a black hole and has to be reorganized from time to time. Other than that, I have no complaints at all.

Re: Another fridge question!

We have Frigidaire Professional. Has freezer on the bottom. It has a smaller pull out shelf on top and bigger bin type on bottom. I keep meats on the top and veggies or other bagged items on the bottom. It can get a bit packed in there, but that’s my own fault for not being neat with it.

We had freezer on top before this one and it fit nothing. Had side by side in our old house and we found it difficult to fit larger items so I had a lot of stuff in the garage freezer

French door for sure.

The most frequent complaint I hear about them is that the freezer becomes a dumping ground but I have a side by side and I still have a dumping ground because my top shelf sits ridiculously low so stuff just piles up and it's annoying.
