I have been in restaurants multiple times a week since they opened- in all areas of Long Island and everyone has worn a mask to their table, to the bathroom and when they were leaving.

Look at the red states vs. blue states and the numbers of increasing cases.

A solid week ago, around June 26-27, FL was at 9000-9500 new cases per day. Yesterday topped 10000.
And the command "do your own research," especially when you're sending people to google (which, here, granted, is the best we can do, although it's been alleged that FL is cooking their numbers), is super cringeworthy, probably because it's been coopted by science deniers when they want to get snarky with people who doubt that their Google skills will equate to others' medical degrees.

I don't know where you get your numbers Valentine but as someone who lives in FL I can attest that our numbers have been very close to 10,000 (9580 ish) for at least 2 days with several days in the 8000 range and 6500 on a "good day." And a big part of the problem here is that reopening was rushed and that politics has come before public safety and counties (including my own) are voting down mask requirements. People are walking around with no masks, crowding restaurants and bars and here we are with cases increasing dramatically and covid hospital admissions increasing. In my zip code cases have DOUBLED in 2 weeks after us not having one single new reported case in over a month!
