I need to brag
My son has dyslexia. He could not read until, maybe the end of second, really at the beginning of third grade. He is very smart, but could not read. He just finished seventh, made high honor roll all four quarters, and received the Seventh grade English award and High Merritt Consciousnesses Award. I could not be prouder. The struggles that he has overcome and the hard work he has put in are being recognized. If you told me back when he was in second grade when we were crying every day that this would be the result I am not sure I would have believed you. So I want you to have faith, because I needed it. Thank you for letting me brag.

thank you. I would read stories of inspiration when we were just felt like fumbling and questioning everything, and every decision.

Just seeing this now and that's AMAZING! Congrats to you and your son! My DD has dyslexia and dysgraphia and stories like this are so comforting and uplifting.

yes, DD has an Ipad & tests read. She's in an inclusion class with small group settings and has pullouts. She's come a long way since diagnosis, and her reading is on grade level (last tested before school closed in march). She's doing well, but i see her still struggle and I honestly think the dysgraphia is harder to overcome than the dyslexia.

Thanks all. My son does not have an iPad for school, but does use a chromebook. He does have in class support for ELA but it is an inclusion class. He has worked very hard to get where he is, I just hope this fall will be okay. Hope everyone is having a good summer too. Xoxo
