summer vacation
Is anyone planning on taking a summer vacation? This is the new discussion in our group. Some people are booking trips to Air BNB's... others hotels... others not doing anything.
What are you doing?

Our trip to Cape May that we booked way back in November to get the rates locked in before they went up in January is still on as planned. The hotel reopened on June 1 and their pools are opening on June 22 so all is good. That's for August.
Hershey in July is off- they are opening in July but it's after we were supposed to go and they want everyone in masks and all these other rules so yeah, no, sounds awful- so that one we will push off until next year.
Currently looking for something to do in July to replace the Hershey trip- I don't like renting houses and AirBNBs- not my idea of a vacation- i like service lol- so it will be at a hotel. Maybe Montauk. But the prices in Montauk are insane as always. So we shall see.

We have a 2 night stay in Greenport in July (we always do for dh's birthday).
We are looking to do something the end of August (not sure where yet, driving distance though, maybe Cape Cod, Myrtle Beach or Ocean City, or maybe back to Lake George). We have to wait till my son's baseball ends.

We had a Vegas trip in July but I canceled it back in May. I don't think we will be doing anything until next year.

We have two trips scheduled to Myrtle Beach and a long weekend in Block Island planned. We are able to cancel both depending on how things go.
I need to reach out to Hershey - we had purchased season passes and I have no plans to go with a mask on either. I took my kids for haircuts today and one cried the whole time since he had to wear a mask - he wouldn't be able to do it at Hershey... I told him he may need to wear a mask at school next year and he cried even harder.

summer vacation
Was supposed to go to Hershey the very end of August. Waiting it out to see if the mask rule is lifted by then. (Have until the night before to cancel the hotel) if not will probably not do anything this year.

I rented a tiny house in the Catskills with its own private pool for July and we are doing ocean city md in a condo in August.
We canceled spring break and I need to get away!

My kids were going to go to camp this summer, but we have the opportunity to spend the summer in CT. We have both family & friends there. They live on the beach, and not far from Mystic. We will be there July 6th- August 15th. Can't wait!!!

Going to Alaska in August to see my Daughter & grandkids. We plan on camping in about 5 or 6 different locations. Really looking forward to it! The kids can't wait to see me camping
ETA:: I already booked a hotel for 1 night.

I got it - I want to see if I can cancel my season pass or roll it to next year - I don't anticipate us going. It's good until 7/3/21 at least but we probably won't go until 2021.

Where are you staying in Greenport? We love Greenport. We have stayed in a few places there.

We always rent a cabin on a lake in Upstate Ny, and we haven’t changed our plans since they opened before us. We’re going in early August. It seems to be ok up there so far; let’s see what happens when tourists start coming in en masse

Where are you staying in Greenport? We love Greenport. We have stayed in a few places there.
WE always stay at Harborfront Inn. It is right on the water and you can walk to town.

I need to officially cancel our August Disney trip.
Other than that, we have no trips planned. My DH is going to take a week off over the summer so we can do a big house project. Fingers crossed.

We canceled a weekend away and rescheduled a cruise. No vacations for us this summer. Not worth the risk or stress IMO. I'm more comfortable home.
