We are still being restrictive. We expanded our circle around MDW to include my inlaws and my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. We visited my mom but sat outside.

Honestly, we are fine. No one is suffering mentally. I'm bored, but I can live with bored. I can't live with dead.

My kids are loving all the electronics time. My younger son spends all day talking to friends on Messenger Kids. My older son gets less social interaction, but that's his choice.

Does it suck not being able to run all over the place? Sure, but it's for our health and for our loved ones health. I'm not in a rush to be a guinea pig for reopening.

Same.
Happy to be distancing.
I’ll talk to people, but only outside & at a good distance.
Other than a few necessary doctor’s appointments, we haven’t been to a public place.
I know I’ll have to soon (work will reopen & certain errands need to get done) but I dread it.
With our luck, we’ll be the first to catch it in the second wave as soon as we go anywhere.

Yeah, I've been confused about how people in my area are already planning home parties and inside playdates. And I'm in a part of NC where cases are making national news.

I'm still basically quarantined - only go shopping when it's necessary, and mostly avoid friends. I've been hanging out with my boyfriend and his kids the entire time, so the only other thing we've done is last weekend when we got take out and met at a park to eat. We brought a blanket to place over the picnic table and I sat far away from everyone else.

Cases are on the rise here and we have a lot of hard-headed people that refuse to wear masks - so I fully expect the hospitals to get overcrowded again soon.

Actually the cases have dropped. There was a spike, which was 1,370 cases on 6/6 but down to 676 on the 9th. I don't know how many are hospitalizations as I only look at the chart for the number recorded each day.
Also more people are probably being tested.
I don't think you will ever see zero anyplace here for awhile. New Zealand is the only place I have heard with zero.

Yes, New Zealand has zero cases now. Now they are totally lifting restrictions. And do you know how they did it? Strict lockdown, travel restrictions and widespread testing. They kept it up until the virus was eradicated.

I think all the people who say they are “done” with social distancing, think wearing masks is “rude”(?), and are going back to complete normal should read about what they did in New Zealand.

I see your point. But, to be fair, New Zealand never had the amount of cases the US, NY in particular had. The 5 boroughs and Nassau/Suffolk alone had more cases than entire countries. It would take many, many more months, possibly longer, for us to reach zero. Also, NYC is the international hub of the world. New Zealand? Not so much. So, while I do agree with you, and I think it would be wonderful if we were able to get the same result, I do not think it is possible here.
I wear a mask whenever I am supposed to, and will not stop. I do not find it rude. I don't love them, but I will wear them forever if it means life as normal.

Just now :)

This exactly. Even if, as they say, 60% may get this disease, that means 40% will be spared ts wild uncertainty and devastation.

If this were like Chicken Pox, I'd be all about a Pox Party to get it over with. But this thing has lasting effects (possibly your entire lifetime of blood clot issues, stroke, etc) - so I'm perfectly fine not running out to see if I'm going to be one of the lucky ones that gets it with no ill effects.

Re: Where are you with social distancing?

For the past 5 days, I have been in a pretty rural area along the coast of North Carolina.
Things seem "normal" I would say there are a good amount of people wearing masks. it is not mandated here. But I have been pretty good about wearing one.
I am around a small group of people who are doing some work where I am.
We went to dinner once, getting a table for 6 wasn't a problem.

It is scary to read that the cases are going up.
