I wouldn’t change a thing. Germs and sickness has been around forever but nobody seems to have worried about spit and people touching food before. I am sure everyone has gone to a party where someone was sick and didn’t think twice to eat or drink with them.

I would order and serve food like normal. I think at this point everyone should know how to help themselves to food without touching everything in their path. I would skip the chip and dip bowls though since people have to put their hands in and out. For apps, serve with toothpicks on the side so nobody has to touch their fingers to the food.

I ordered food and for apps I'm going to do stuff that can be eaten with a toothpick. Like pigs in a blanket, caprese skewers and shrimp cocktail. Then I'll do individual bags of chips with a big vat of dip people can put in those jello shot glasses I seem to have a hoarding problem with. LOL

Popcorn, m&ms, candy corn.
my brother is a huge germaphobe, and my mother isnt' too far behind.
We were at a party someone at our table ( who we didn't know) licked his fingers and hten picked up food with his hands--we immediately stopped eating the apps)

I can't tell you how many parties we have been to and I get the call 2 days later that xyz are sick, and then xyz is now sick, etc. I've been made fun of for making my kids wash hands and alcohol wipe at parties, but guess what...we are rarely sick!

I doubt it. I always wonder how come body wash and regular soap was not wiped out of the stores. People are sheeple and just do what everyone else does. People will still be dirty and how many lie and just hoarded all this stuff and don't actually use it.
I am not a germaphobe and believe you need to "eat some dirt" in life. Knock on wood I don't get sick very often but then I have good hygiene, eat on a regular basis and get sleep.

OMG one Christmas out of town family came down and failed to tell us they all had stomach viruses
They got an entire house of people sick with horrible stomach viruses.... including my 6 month old DD, a 4 month old baby, pregnant women, everyone.
People are just selfish too when it comes to going out and about sick

My boss and I were talking about this the other day. He was telling me you would be shocked at how many men do not wash their hands after using a public bathroom. He said, they will use the urinal or the stall and just walk right out. They aren't even shamed to splash some water on their hands because someone else is standing there.
It really makes you think about how filthy people are. It takes a pandemic to make people wash.

I have the wipes and Lysol and Hand Sanitizer and honestly use the wipes for my counters, the Lysol in the beginning and used the Hand Sanitizer twice. I hate the stuff and I wash my hands all day as I always have forever so I think I am good :)

I was thinking about how much less calories I would eat at a party if I was limited to snack sized bag of chips. This sounds like a trick out of a Weight Watchers play book LOL
The snack bags are actually a really good idea.
We had a BBQ last summer and for the first time I had bought the variety bags of chips. I placed them in a big basket on one of the tables for anyone who wanted them. I found everyone had a particular favorite so it was a big hit and more sanitary than everyone sharing one bowl of the same.

I’ve been doing the individual bags of chips the past few summers. It’s so much less gross with kids too - they’re nit sticking their germy hands into a big, shared bowl.
