When do you have your kids wear masks?

They each have one and haven’t bought more because I am not a fan of them.

I wear them because I have no choice when I got into stores!

They have to wear them in the drs office so we have them do that. But they won’t wear them for long periods of time.

I don’t take them shopping ever before all this so they don’t come now.

I don’t make them wear it when they see friends or my parents etc.

Just wondering when you are making your kids wear them.

Debating if I am going to have to get them more since In this state doesn’t seem they will be going away anytime soon

Only when she comes in a store with me which isn't often.
We haven't had a dr or dentist appt yet but she will have to wear it then too i guess.
We only have 1 for her

My son wears when when we go on hikes and we can not properly socially distance. That is the only time as he doesn’t come to the store with me.

When he walks the dog.. because he has to use the elevators and in our lobby.


And the few times he’s been to the store with my DH. But it’s usually been quick trips, like target pick up or Walgreens, DD order pick up.

I have two kid ones that my sister in law made for him. And as back up the black t-shirt material masks fit him. He has more than one because he walks the dog about three times a day, so I have a back up.

Advice: get your kids used to wearing them because chances are VERY HIGH that they will be required when they go back to school. Your personal feelings about wearing masks is irrelevant.

Only at the doctor's office. I have a 2 and a 6 year old. My 6 year old has sensory processing disorder and my 2 year old won't wear one. They don't go into stores with me and I tell my older child to stay 6 feet from everyday else when we are out.

As for whether of not the will have to wear them to school, my son will like be excused from that due to having SPD. Also, I highly doubt they are going to require younger elementary children to wear a mask. 1. It is just not practical and 2. There are health risks associated with prolonged mask-wearing in young children.

Stores, walks/hikes around a lot of people, and when we have a dr appt in a couple weeks.

My DD has 6 reusable cloth masks. Family members made some and sent to us, I bought one off of etsy and my DH bought her 2 from a website. She really only likes the way 3 of them fit, but it’s good to have backups.

When we go on hikes in case we meet anyone..anywhere that non household members are going to be close by their masks are on.

In the stores, Doctors or any crowded area. Other than that she walks the streets without one with me or when we are with friends and family

We have cloth ones and we use in any crowded area. Like parking lot and pathway at the beach. We visited my parents today and did not wear masks. But we stopped in a crowded area for my daughter to get air due to car sickness and we all put on masks. We watched local protests from the side and my kids wore their masks but actually no one was that close to us.

Right now I think one reusable cloth one is enough. We don’t go anywhere.

So far just at the driving range (to go in), doctors and the couple of times we’ve brought them into a store.

They hate them.

I have 8 year old twins who haven’t really gone out too much but they know they need to wear masks when we do. My friend made each of my kids a mask. I only have 1 for each of them and I wash it after we come home.

My youngest is 7 and has autism and he refuses to wear a mask. His therapists are working on it in zoom but honestly have taken a break from it because it was so torturous. He goes to a special needs school and will definitely not be wearing a mask when he returns. He is in a 6:1:1 class and has his own para and I can’t imagine any of the kids in his class wearing masks.

People who have issues with kids/masks should keep them away from others. Personal feelings are indeed, irrelevant.

Maskless kids are most likely to be the reason that the schools are forced to shut down again after opening, so I HOPE they send them home.

And lets not even TALK about people who send their kids to school sick.

My DD has been out "in public" 5 times since this started. She's worn her mask 2x. Once at the beach, and once to the dentist. The other three times she never got out of the car.

In general, I will make her wear it when she will be around others.

Twice--once when we had to go to school to pick up her belongings and once when she had her well apmt at the dr. She doesn't go into any stores (My DH does all the shopping)

My kids haven’t left the house other than for a car ride since 3/13, haven’t even seen grandparents. I’m nervous because tomorrow is a car parade for their pre school class but my kids won’t wear a mask. One has SPD, the other will flip out , I think it makes them upset because they see me on face time geared up and they ask about masks so they won’t be getting out of the car. My kids will be home until they can learn to wear a mask, plain and simple

Cuomo released guidance for summer camp today. Adults must wear masks, children do not. So, not sure if they will have to wear them to school.

We ONLY wear masks in a store. The second we walk outside, they come off. If we are outdoors we don't wear masks EVER. It's easy enough to stay away from people when you're outside and I can't breathe through a mask in the hell hot heat. I want to breathe in the fresh air when I am outdoors.
