Sorry didn’t mean to be insensitive. A married couple is 100% a family.
I’m not sure why she’s here judging all of us tho. She’s a bitter Betty.

Sarcasm & everyday relatability.

I Love the #imomsohard mamas! They make me feel a little less odd and a lot more normal.

Not Family related board??? This is called FAMILIES helping FAMILIES!!!
What the F is wrong with you?!
If you think we need to stop complaining about parenting, then you need to stop complaining about your weird ass boyfriend who doesn’t sound like he’s too fond of you.

Wow, really? The original board was called not family related.

And my SO is fond of me, but I don't need to prove that to anyone. He isn't a "weird ass boyfriend."

I'm just so tired of people complaining about teachers. What really got to me was people saying teachers should be fired.

And you (general) aren't homeschooling. You are doing work with your kids. You aren't doing lesson plans.

I'm not bitter at all. It is just getting very tiresome hearing everyone complain about schools.

But way to go people. There are people on this board that cannot have children. Have a little bit of respect for them. The child free board gets no action.

My students are quite happy with me and I have gone above and beyond for them. I don't need to prove that to anyone, but go ahead with your judgments. Go for it-- knock yourselves out.

It's obvious that I'm not welcome here because I do not have kids and am not married.

No one said that you are not welcome because you do not have children. The more the merrier. The issue is that you constantly snap at anyone who makes any reference to parenting being difficult. Just like you are allowed to vent about your relationship issues or your unemployment issues, we (parents) are allowed to vent or (in this case) laugh at our struggles. Yes, children are (often) frustrating, but that does not mean that we do not love them with our entire beings.

Honestly, I feel like you really overstepped with your initial comment and you should have apologized. If you had, then people would have just let it go. Hey, everyone is on edge right now and one stupid comment isn't the end of the world. Instead, you had to keep trying to justify yourself (which only made it worse).

I think that you need to take a breath, step away from the computer, and really think about why any type of parenting post pushes your buttons.

You are more than welcome to post on any board that you wish regardless of your relationship status. Nobody has a problem with single or child-free people posting here. What they have a problem with is you constantly telling people they can't post about their frustrations with their child's education here as if you own these boards and that they shouldn't have had children if they weren't prepared in the event of a global pandemic. Do you really not get that?

I thought the video was very pro teacher if anything.

As in, damn this is hard, more power to people who do this with a room full of kids instead of just a couple.

I love all of their videos. Always hysterical! This one is pretty much what I would imagine parents are going through now. Especially women. We do it all don’t we?

Childfree here
Not offended by any of the kid posts. Not your problem I couldn’t have them. I feel
For you guys and don’t know how you are doing it. Especially to those with multiple kids. If you live by me and you need me to drop off a bottle of wine (or 4) just let me know!

Here’s a question: has anyone thought of getting a tutor to work with their kids so they actually retain what they are learning or maybe through the summer? It would be another zoom but a 1 on 1. I had this thought while reading a post from a friend who has kids at different age ranges and she is completely drowning. I wondered if tutors are offering this service

Hysterical!!! I totally identify with sitting outside and yelling to put down the ipad outside WTF! They drive me nuts with that! And the part with the "You have been on the ipad for a while go watch a movie or tv" Clearly not alone with the A+ parentingChat Icon

This is a great suggestion and yes we have talked about it in our family. Specifically for kids who are going to struggle more than others trying to catch up to grade level.

But we are waiting until we get a better idea of what September is going to look like.

We are fortunate that we are in a position to afford that.

Totally wrong and don't get it twisted. Not cool.

You took what was meant to be a fun, lighthearted post and soured it. This is not the first time you have been unnecessarily mean or rude.

You take offense to posters venting their frustrations teachers. Not all teachers are as wonderful as you are. Bad apples everywhere. Nobody is saying all teachers are awful but this particular situation has really brought to light deficiencies in the education system. As someone who works in education, you would know that.

To answer your question, no I did not consider that I would be working full time from home while managing 3 kids during a pandemic when I thought about family planning. Never once crossed my mind.

Can you please just answer these two questions ... what does any of this have to do with the video I posted? Why are you bringing your frustrations from other threads in here and making this post toxic? Everything you are saying has nothing to do with this thread. It so odd.

This was suppose to be funny to lighten up the boards and you managed to turn it into dog sh!t. Good job!Chat Icon

You are right. I brought my frustrations into this topic. I had a very bad day.

But I will not tolerate being told that I have a weird ass boyfriend who isn’t fond of me. Or that I hate the US. That is stalker territory. My SO had a field day with that!

Stalker territory?? Chat Icon. So, by ur logic, the other day when u told me to go homeschool my kids and to not let them get vaccines, u were actually stalking me? Ha! How ridiculous! U were the one that posted info about ur SO. This is a public forum, ppl read and remember! Sorry to inform u...u’re not that special. And yes, I’m sure u’re gonna probably post a belittling and denigrating reply to me ‘cause that seems to be part of ur personality Chat Icon.

Re: Funny Video - Moms Homeschooling (@Dont Open if You’re bitter & can’t take a Joke!!)

I think being inside too much really affects everyone’s mental health. While she is interacting with people with zoom, there is not enough outside time to clear the mind.
I know because I live with 2 “kids”, teen and young adult and husband. I see a HUGE difference when they get out of the house.
Saying that, try getting a teen to distance learn. It is not easy and since they are pass/fail and are not getting graded they have given up and don’t care. They can’t learn the same and don’t want to hear the nagging everyday.
Try working from home with a ton of distractions and family who don’t really get this is a job you are doing and have no place to do it so you are stuck in the middle of a room where everyone congregates.
I love my family, waited, and planned my kids but they can still drive me insane and some days if I didn’t have to wear a damn mask to go out I would run away for hours.
You complain about living alone and that is understandable but IMO that is the same as complaining about parents dealing what they are dealing with. I would LOVE to have just 1 week alone. Just to deal with my own messes, have done quiet and not deal with anyone’s mental issues but my own.

Sorry, but did people not think of everything before they had kids? Or did everyone think that everything would be roses?

Of course, people did not think of a pandemic. But seriously you had to have thought of other scenarios before you had kids.

Sorry, I did not think that I - with 2 masters degrees in public policy - would be homeschooling children in the middle of a pandemic. This is low level thinking at its best to say "you didn't think of this 20 years ago."

Gee golly me I'm just so silly for not planning my life properly Chat Icon

First of all, this video is so funny. I was in tears!!! The woman on the bathroom floor, drinking wine and eating halloween candy is me.

Second, the video is posted on a page called "Bored Teachers" so I highly doubt any teacher finds this offensive.

Third, Kilingklang, you sound completely off your rocker. Get off your high horse. This board has turned into a free for all. When you post relationship problems no one tells you to go post it on relationships because you might be upsetting someone that is single. You need to let your boyfriend come back home and you need to get laid.

My daughter is almost 10 years old and to this day she will only let DH make her a PB&J sandwich because apparently I "make it wrong".
I can make her a ham and cheese, a cheese sandwich- pretty much any other sandwich- but only HE can make her PB&J.
Recently he was out somewhere and she came to me telling me I should text him to see when he'd be back because she wanted a PB&J.
I told her no way. Either you let me make it, or you wait for him or you make it yourself!
I even had her show me how he made it and what the hell I was doing wrong (apparently I use too much jelly and I make a dent in the bread when I go to cut it Chat Icon ) but she still doesn't trust me to make it.

She sounds like my DH who says I shouldn't be allowed to make pb&j sandwiches for anyone. Apparently I get the ratio wrong.
