Re: Anyone fighting more with their SO

It is more my dh and son. The bickering is getting on my nerves and my only quiet many days is when they are napping.
I am working from home too and they think that just means there is a maid for them on call. Also if I am waiting for work they think I do nothing. Of course they are never around when I am nonstop and if they are they think they can talk to me like I am just chilling out with them.

To Marathon...,has he been like this before or just suddenly changed? Maybe the stress is just getting to him and saying things he doesn’t really mean.

This week was bad in my house and some days one of us feels like we are going to lose it. Other days we are all ok.

Re: Anyone fighting more with their SO

MK I won't quote, but please get out. Don't be afraid to live alone. Your safety is priority and it's better to live alone than in constant fear. I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this! Please update and let us know when you're out. Does he know that you post on these boards?

OP, the chances of getting the virus from a birthday cake or pizza are so low. If it makes your husband feel better he can reheat the pizza. It would mean so much to your son to have a sense of normalcy. Happy birthday!

I would just like to say this is my 3rd PMS week in quarantine and I’m proud to announce there have been no stabbing or strangulations yet. Not to say we haven’t come close Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm sorry you are going through this, but reading your posts the last year I have had a bad feeling about your SO...which I know is weird because I don't know him, or you for that matter! Please get out and be safe!
Don't be scared about living alone...I've been living alone since I was left at the altar 11 years ago...up until that point I had never lived alone. And yeah, now during the quarantine, it does get a bit lonely , but on the whole I LOVE living alone! I am so free I don't know what would happen if I eventually ever find someone to marry, which at this point in time is pretty doubtful, but I think if a miracle happened they would have to live away part of the week, lol!! But seriously, if you fear for your safety, don't hesitate to leave.

The one thing that we have been fighting about is his sleep- DH works overnights and sleeps during the day. Besides helping with my sons Teletherapy and both kids online assignments, I am also working from home and have to make phone calls throughout the day. He gets angry at me because while I’m on the phone/working, the kids will be loud and he can’t sleep. I told him what do you expect me to do? I can quit my job then we won’t be able to afford our bills since we can’t make it on his salary alone. It’s very frustrating.

Light blue- can you get a white noise machine and throw some lavender or whatever smell stuff gets people to sleep?
Is your bedroom dark ?

Can you maybe bring the kids outside for their teletherapy sessions? - some of the kids I work with have been bringing their chrome books outside to do teletherapy cuz their parents are nurses and sleep during the day sometimes

I’m just spitting out ideas

This whole situation is so nerve wracking

Re: Anyone fighting more with their SO

I have had all my stuff delivered, haven’t been in a store since this started, mainly because I’m older and have some health issues. However, I would have no problem with getting the cake curbside pickup. I use Target drive up pickup often. We also get pizza, etc delivered occasionally.
DH and I have been getting along well, and I was worried because we usually don’t spend this much time together because he works long hours in the city, but now he’s working from home, and I’m currently not working.
I would get the cake. Hope your son has a nice birthday!

Re: Anyone fighting more with their SO

MK, please be careful, trust your instincts and get out of there as soon as you can Chat Icon sorry you are feeling this way.

OP, at the beginning we were fighting less than ever, then a coupe of weeks ago we started fighting more and now we are back to happy couple. As for the cake and pizza, go and get them. If he wants to bake the cake, he can do it, but I wouldn't move a finger. As a PP mentioned, we have been ordering take out since week 1 and I don't disinfect boxes or bags, and we are well so far.

Yay, thank goodness for the small victories!

In the beginning my DH and I were arguing a lot. He’s also very scared and has a fear of death in general. Hates to fly and worries a lot etc. It was similar to the fights on the these boards. I thought he was acting like a psycho and he thought I was being an ass and acting like this was a joke. We just started being patient and respecting each other’s feelings.

Now he’s trying to force me to go out to stores or walks and I’m fighting to stay in. Lol. However the not ordering food wore off fast when he saw I was tired of cooking and he wanted a Big Mac from Mcds. I think we lasted a month Chat Icon

i feel the pain of those who are fighting more!!

things have gotten scary in my home.

i was so happy at the end of the winter that we reached out five-year mark. now, i'm looking at apartments to move out.

because by saying "scary in my home," i mean i am starting to fear for my physical well being.

SO has become very angry, bitter, racist, controlling, demanding. i no longer argue because i don't want to have to deal with the aftermath. i just smile and knit. when he leaves the house for any chore/errand, i have been going through drawers to collect important documents i want to make sure i don't forget when i finally find an apartment to move into.

this will be the first time in my almost 47 years that i will be living alone. i'm so scared.

I'm so sorry to hear this! Let me tell you though, I lived alone for a year before I moved in with DH (then fiance) and I LOVED it. I got to decorate how I wanted, do what I wanted, when I wanted. The quiet was amazing. If I wanted to have a lazy Saturday and read books or watch TV all day, no one to bother me about it. I miss it often! I lived in an apartment complex and having lots of people around made me feel safer. I hope you find something soon that you can be excited about!

I'm so sorry to read what I did. You sound like you have a good handle on things right now. Continue doing what you're doing so everything will fall into place when it's time.
When I moved out 6 yrs ago it was the first time I ever lived alone. I was about 46 at the time. I couldn't wait. Everyone asked if I was nervous and oddly enough I wasn't. I kept saying, it's time. And it's the best thing I ever did. Yes its scary because it's new , but not in a bad way. I think you will feel the same way. Hang in there!! And reach out to me anytime! Chat Icon

You and I have been through this many times, and you are one of the strongest women I know! You can do this. I was in the same boat like 5 years ago and I have to say, the year I lived alone was hard at first but it was so nice to just do whatever I wanted, i didnt have to check with anyone, i wasnt stressed out, i was free. The first few months were so hard and I missed being in a relationship but after a few months I was happier than I had ever been in my life, and when I met my (now) fiance, I wasnt even sure I wanted to date him and complicate my life and possibly lose my happiness!

You are strong. You can do this. You will get through it. You are stronger than you realize.
