I see empty flights with 1 person all the time in my Delta group. Many of the planes have tons of cargo on them though.
Do they let them sit in first class I hope?
That's the running joke...did they get an upgrade This is actually a Diamond Medallion group where most people are in first class to begin with or get an upgrade to it. It's actually so interesting to see a plane with one person on it. They also give the snacks and water in a sealed plastic baggie along with an alcohol wipe.

Hey, I wouldn't mind flying right now if I was alone on the plane and getting sealed snacks and alcohol wipes.

These people that are flying are mostly essential workers. Many doctors flying to NYC from other parts of the country.

When do you think we can travel for vacation again?
i'm hoping we are ok for disney in feb next year. We booked our DVC rental last month right before all this happened. Supposed to be going over feb break

We have Disney planned for the end of October, we were scheduled to go in March but that did not happen. My parents know someone that works for Disney and they were told they would reopen in June, not sure that will happen. We are just hoping for the best. If we go to Disney everyone will probably be wearing masks.

Disney is a petri dish though. Always has been. I'm in many Disney groups and so many people end up sick on their Disney vacation. Everyone touching the same stuff and not a whole lot of hand washing. I did get sick one year at Disney with Strep and it was miserable. I'm super diligent about alcohol wiping our hands before eating, after rides, etc. but that trip I think I got it from the plane since I had left our wipes at home and didn't wipe down the plane properly like my mad-woman self , who knows! We just went in February and were super diligent about washing our hands and alcohol wiping, especially since I knew that CV was going around and it's the height of flu season in February. I also bring peroxide wipes to wipe down the hotel room, and do it each day since Housekeeping touches a million other rooms before your own. (Just a tip)

Traveling is not the problem, but hotels and leisure activities. A friend of mine flew yesterday to Florida. 2 other friends drove last week to Orlando and now they are staying there in houses (we all live in small apartments in Manhattan). Another friend is driving next week to Naples. They have to quarantine once they get there. But at this point, I consider that a vacation since they are in houses with pools and warm weather. We hope to be able to rent a house later in June to get out of the city for, for at least a week, since our spring break and summer vacation were cancelled.

Flights are empty. Planes have industrial grade HEPA filters that pull outside atmospheric air so the air quality on a plane is probably better than a supermarket. Sit in a window seat and wipe down the surfaces and you are good.
Florida had a 14 day quarantine for anybody coming from NY. We did this for 14 days, we are technically good now, although stuff down here is as much closed as stuff in NY so it's not like we are going anywhere outside of the supermarkets/target/etc.
Planes continue to fly because they still have to maintain a minimum amount of flights to maintain their airport "slots", or lose them.

Not real easy IMO. More a threat than anything else. After we came down they started putting troops at the airports and at the i95 border for drivers. They took down your info/address, gave you a pamphlet that explains the quarantine executive order, and i guess they threaten that they can show up at your house to do an inspection of you being there or face fines/jail/etc.
ETA if you get pulled over in your car, another way to get busted i guess if you are in their system.
What if you are not staying 14 days though? Like just for the memorial or july 4th long weekend?

Then the quarantine would apply until you leave. They don't care about keeping you there for a full 14 days. They just want to make sure you aren't spreading anything around while you are there

and@ Mrs213 - yes and I heard it in the line at Shoprite...just random conversations 
I kept thinking to myself (*these people dont even know what they are talking about*). I didnt want to butt in and ask it they were speaking from personal experience since I was eaves dropping.

I dont even go on vacations for that long. If it was to Florida, I would just rather drive then. But I dont see traveling until places start opening.

Yeah I don't think I've ever been on a vacation that was longer than 14 days.
But when they put this in place it wasn't about people coming for vacation I would assume- because everything was closed anyway.
It was more for people with second homes in Florida or maybe family in Florida who were fleeing NY to be locked down in Florida I would assume

They do quarantine you, but not at the airport. You are supposed to stay inside the place you are going and not leave. see the link below for all the info:

From what I read, they will only allow 25% capacity. That would be great, but I also read they are probably making people wear masks (according to a survey they sent upcoming guests). That would be a huge dealbreaker to me...wearing a mask in 100 degree temps walking around a theme park. Sounds like hell.
