Re: Gloves and masks

I read last night using a pillowcase with 600 thread count or more is actually really good. When choose a material, hold it t light. The less light comes through, the better protection.

I have a bunch of King Pillowcases around (I don't use king pillows but have a king size bed) Gonna cut them in half and make 2 masks from one using the folding and rubber band method.
I've also read people use a HEPA vacuum cleaner bag and cut that into 6-8 pieces to put in between the material for added protection.

What is a buff?
I saw someone mention it on the other thread and now here.
I have never heard of a buff.

We have a whole lot of these. DH bought them years ago with all funny faces on them lol I feel like they are too thin. But I guess if you fold 3xand use the rubber bands it can work

Just be careful with Hepa. I read somewhere they contain particular that you shouldn't be breathing in. Not sure how accurate that is but worth checking

Thanks.
I’m not using it. Just saw it on one of the many DIY mask tutorials. As well as coffee filters. I feel like the covering should be enough unless you’re treated a Covid patient. Should be ok for Stop and shop lol

we made them using bandanas and hair ties. There's several videos on how to do it. It was easy

I just want to know where people are getting bandanas.
They are like- oh you can just make them out of stuff you have at home- no need to go out!
Go grab your stash of bandanas.
Who has bandanas? For what use?

I have a few on hand. They were purchased for country western day at school

My dad, apprently! And a buff ( I didn'tknwo what it was either) , and construction type masks. If you saw my parents' house, you were also be completley confused as to where he was hiding all this. Its from when he used to do yard work, accirdng to my mom.

I have been looking for scrap material, but I donate/recyle everything. I had bought a bandana for a project & didn't need it, but I think I donated it. I do have an N95 mask from a sanding project, but I feel guilty wearing it b/c people are going to think I stole it from a hospital. (Crazy, I know)

It’s like a tube top for skinny people. Like an extra material headband. I have one from when I went to Africa for three weeks because I didn’t want to wash my hair often.

But seriously stock up on Bandanas now.
