Facebook message question
If you message someone on Facebook that is not on your friend list, will they get it?

I get messages from people that aren't my friends in a sub folder called Message Requests. There is no notification. By the time I figured it out, I had some messages that were a couple years old.
Btw, I only use facebook on my computer. Not sure if it's different when you use facebook app or messenger app.

Yes, they will receive the message, but they won't get notified. It's why I semi-regularly look in my "message requests" tab. However, this is for people you've never connected with previously. If someone was friends and had previous conversations but are no longer friends, they would receive the message like they would if they were still friends.
The only way they wouldn't be able to receive the message is if they're blocked.
