For the ski lovers -

Last weekend I went to the American Dream Mall in NJ (next to Giants Stadium). Big Snow is the indoor skiing area. They also have an indoor water park and ice rink. More stores will open soon.

It's $50 for 2 hours and it includes jacket, snow pants, boots/skis. You don't have to use their jackets/pants but it is included in the price. You can bring your own equipment too.

Free lockers also to store your stuff. You wear a bracelet that is scanned to lock it.

Your time starts when you go into the snow. Free parking (for now lol)

The skiing area is 28* so wear layers. I recommend going in the morning. I was there midday and it got packed. Only people who are skiing are allowed in the snow area. There is a waiting area/windows inside the gift shop but it's not very big. I did hear them say you can purchase a "visitor pass" and then you can go "outside."

It's definitely worth it if you like to ski and don't want to travel far. My 12 year old niece loved it.

Thanks so much for posting this! This is all my DH is talking about. Do they offer lessons there or is it just for people who know how to ski? Can all ages go? Does it have a lift?

Yes snowboards are available (and can bring). I don't know prices

Yes there is a lift for the bigger hill and "carpets" that you stand on for the smaller ones.

There are workers walking around that can assist you in getting into the skis and at the bunny hill. But i'm not sure about private lessons.

All ages. 7 & Under free with adult purchase.

No. There aren't any shops open yet.

Bring food/drinks. There's a small cart in the mall area that sells some food but is so expensive! $13 for a sandwich!

Re: For the ski lovers -

My good friends only went to the Nickelodeon park over Christmas break. They said they felt it was expensive for what it was, and most of the rides make you go upside down. They did not love it, but then again they are not big roller coaster people. It is a lot of roller coasters, so if that is your thing, then it might be fun.

Re: For the ski lovers -

I took my daughter(11 Yrs old) to the American Dream Mall this past Monday. I don't think the water park was open yet but i did see a few people in there, testing it maybe? We were almost the only people in Nickelodeon until about 1:30-2 ( we got there at about 11:30 i think). There are a lot of spinning flip over upside down rides and the roller coasters were on the smaller side but definitely fun. They have an adventure ropes course that goes 90 feet in the air, my DD and husband were up there for an hour. The place was very clean and there were lockers by each ride so you could leave your belongings. The lockers lock/unlock with your wrist band that was very helpful. The food options were pricey but they did have a nice selection of food. We were done with everything at about 3 and ready to leave. We did stop at the huge candy store outside of Nickelodeon (Its Sugar). Didn't go near the ski area this time and we were too tired for the ice skating rink after the rides. Also we got our tickets on line before we got there. It was sold out the 1st time we were there and we couldn't get in but that was on the weekend
