Any is fair game because I work in a hospital. This year my only holidays are Labor Day and day after thanksgiving that I’m assigned to.

Re: What holidays are you off from work?

Well mine is going to be completely different...

Dec.24th-Jan 6th (go back on the 7th if it isn’t a weekend, but I work in schools)

Usually it would be 24th as a half day, 25th, and 26th, and January 6th.

The Monday before Ash Wednesday, depending on if the school I’m working in is open or not.

Good Friday
Easter
Easter Monday

May 1st Labour Day

The after Easter holidays:

Ascension Day (date changes every year)
Pentecost (date changes every year, but it’s a Monday and Tuesday we get off)
Corpus Christi (date changes every year)

August 15th- Assumption Day
October 3rd- German Unity Day
We had off last year on October 31st because it was an anniversary day of

Reformation day (day Martin Luther nailed the Theses on a door in Saxony), and they are talking about making it a yearly holiday. Probably won’t happen in Catholic Bavaria.

November 1st- All Saints day

Wow! That's a lot! Is this just the way it is this year? Like since January 1st is a Wednesday, you get the Thursday and Friday too? Do you get less days some years?

Reading this thread makes me realize my company probably gives the least amount of holidays of any company in the nation.

It's 13 or 14 days per year.
We always get January 1st and 2nd. For 2020 we get the 3rd as well because our head office in Tokyo is closed.
If a holiday falls on the weekend like 4th of July, Christmas or New Year's, we get either the Friday or the Monday off.
I also plan my vacation days around the holidays to maximize my time off.

Glad I am not alone. LOL
I saw some that have not only President's Day but a SEPERATE day off for Lincoln's Birthday? I was like really?
My MIL use to work for the county and she had all those days off, but I can't imagine a private industry closing for Lincoln's Birthday in addition to President's Day .

We used to get off for Columbus Day, but they took that off the calendar. We have a "floating holiday" instead.
