Active shooter training
Anyone else's company do training if there is an active shooter situation in the workplace? I find it sad that its come to this.

I am a teacher and we do. We were actually told that if someone tries to come into a barricaded door, and they are able to get their arm around the other side, we need to take whatever we can find in the classroom- a scissor, for example, and stab the person until they pull their arm away. Sick and disturbing.

Yes, they have it at my job. It is very sad that we have to do this (and pretty scary too)

Yes, we do it, but only for the safety team.
I keep saying that the ENTIRE office has to do it because we do have idiots that will insist on staying at their desks to work or complete a call or just have no freaking clue what to do. Deer in headlights.
They need to learn how to silence their phones, where to go, what to do.
Especially since we have glass walls and not very many places to hide .......
IT is a sad situation that these types of training have become the norm.
I am the fire warden for my floor, have been for 25 years. I have been thru 2 fires and 3 evacuations. I want to know how to get out and what my options are. It's also a good excuse to keep a baseball bat under my desk.

Yep, at my old job we did. And we had a gunman on campus about 10 years back or so.

Our office just started this summer.
ETA: One of the things they suggest doing is go to a room with no windows and lock the door. Meanwhile, they are renovating all of our office space to be completely glass- offices, conference rooms, everything.  I'm a nursing mom so I know where the privacy room is for pumping and that's where I'm headed. It's small, interior, no windows, and the door locks.

my previous office did it. if we couldn't make it to the roof from where our offices were on the 2nd floor, we'd be sitting ducks

I think we had to do some online training video thing for it.
We have to do so many online training things- sexual harassment, etc etc that I can't really recall what they all were for to be honest.
ETA- we also all had to watch a video about- "if you accidentally dial 911 from your work phone- (which is very easy to dobecause you have to dial 9 to get out so it's easy to slip when you dialing 9 plus the 1 before the area code)- make sure you stay on the line to tell the operator it was a mistake.
So, yeah. Lots of online videos.

Yes, I work in a public library and we had in-person training for it earlier this year. Not sure if it will be a yearly thing...
