I need to renegotiate my package and wanted to know some sample packages that are out there so i have a starting point to negotiate from thanks

if you know the name of your package that helps, and types of channels (premium, no premium etc). thanks!

UPDATE as of 10-24
I called them and discussed the options. If I sign a new contract, they will start charging me a rental fee for the router (my current contract does not charge me) $12 per month, i'd lose my HBO, and they'd increase the bill by $10.

If I just keep it month to month (not signing a new contract) it would only go up the $10 per month and everything else stays the same. So we kept it month to month, it would be stupid to sign a new contract with the above charges!

I was just on phone w them bc my internet was spotty, anyway I asked what I pay bc we do automatic so I forget, $178 with 4 boxes, HBO and Showtime (phone and internet too--our internet is only 100 so not sure if that effects it). I honestly thought it was more...we have had verizon for 8 yrs if that matters and I have fought down the bill in the past.

$173 for 3 boxes (no Showtime or HBO) and phone and Internet.

I tried getting rid of the phone 2 years ago and my bill went up. It sucks.

Our $65 discount expires in June so I'm dreading that. They don't seem to be as negotiable as they once were. Let me know how you do when you call them.

We got rid of cable years ago. We stream everything. Not sure what the cost is because we have multiple services.

I actually don’t know many people who still have cable. You would think these cable companies would realize they’re becoming a dinosaur and lower their prices!

I can't live without real cable. Streaming is just too annoying and I like to watch live things as well.
Plus I like old ass shit like The Golden Girls, Supermarket Sweep, Press Your Luck and All in the Family.
And Lifetime movies are my guilty pleasure.
You can't find any of that on Netflix or Hulu!
We have Netflix and i keep telling DH we should just can it- I never find anything to watch on it. It sucks so badly.
DD watches a few show on Teen Nick and Nick, etc that we can't stream either I don't think.
We probably pay way too much for Fios, but I really don't care. It's a cost of living to me.

DD watches nick Jr. all the time (and Disney and PBS kids). I saw the golden girls on something when I was scrolling through the other day.

I’ll admit if I lived alone I’d probably just have cable. I have no idea how these things work. I only learned how to work the tv like 6 months ago. DH and I can never get divorced.

OMG I know. DD wanted to watch something on Amazon Prime the other day and I had to use 3 remotes and 2 devices and change the input 4 times and finally I just called DH in and he had it on for her in 30 seconds. I mean why is it so damn complicated?
I'm terrible with that stuff.

I pay like $200 a month and that is without premium channels (they took those away when our contract ended). This is for 3 boxes w/ DVR, and internet and phone. I don't want to switch to Optimum though because of bad reviews.

I find that Verizon will not negotiate. My mom was fed up and switched to Optimum (now is Altice I think) and has been having problems with her shows coming in scrambled.

Best way to negotiate with Verizon is now and saying you are calling to quit but also be prepared to quit if it doesnt work out. Speak to the retention department not customer service. We had Verizon for 8 years at a locked in price of $175 for 4 boxes (all channels) by negotiating with them this way. Will only work if you are a long standing excellent customer and your contract is expiring. We switched to Optimum because they couldn't keep our deal anymore. However, you can quit verizon go with something else for awhile then sign up again later own with one of the new customer deals.

Wondering if everyone went up this month? It wasn't our "anniversary" but my bill went up too.

You can renew your contract or enter a new one pretty much at anytime online. I would look at the rates. I do it often when paying the bill as some times, there are some deals.

I just wish that channels could be purchased a la carte.
We pay an astronomical amount because DH "needs" certain channels that are not part of the lower plans.

We don't need all the childrens' channels, a lot of the sports channels.
We watch just a handful out of the thousands out there.

Same exact thing for me. We are just going to keep month to month too. Just as an FYI, you can buy the router too from them (I think they said it was $199) and not have the $12 per month charge. Insane! We never had to buy/rent the router before. And ridiculous about HBO too. Hubby refuses to get rid of it or any other channels.
