Online Vs retail experience?
On this forum because the newlywed one gets hardly any action. Anyone get their engagement ring from an online retailer like Blue Nile? After 16 years of marriage I am getting a new one because my old one has disappeared . Fortunately we had insurance on it and originally got it in diamond district but I hear online retailers are better deals now. Is that true. What was your experience?

Mine also came from the diamond district but I have friends whose rings were purchased from blue mile and they were very happy.

mine is from blue nile. bought it over 10 years ago.
i love it, it is exactly what i wanted. I like that you could pick your diamond and you got to see a mock up when you bought it.
i noticed most rings from stores have a very high setting. i didn't like that. my blue nile ring has a lower setting and came with a matching wedding band i really liked.
it is insured and has certification.

When we negotiated my ring at the local jeweler over 10 years ago I took specs for diamond and compared to Blue Nile to negotiate a better price. A jeweler is going to have overhead that an online retailer doesn't so a better deal could be possible online.
