I’m so incredibly sorry. A friend went through this and I did a gofundme like thing for her through PayPal to cover her rent. Call your mortgage company. They should be able to defer payments for at least one month if not more.

Thanks. I tried that and they said they could but then the next months double and they report it to credit so they said we would take a 200 point hit on credit!! That is crazy!

Ask for a modification or extension...you will likely have to submit papers (pay stubs, doctor bills, etc). That so sucks. If not try a Go fund me or if worse comes to worse see if you can borrow against you or your husbands 401K. I wouldn't normally recommend that but this is an extreme circumstance that IMO would warrant that.

this is exactly what a hardship 401k loan is for. OP tey this and a go fund me. I would also call his physician to see if they have any leads to get your husband closer to your home.

Thanks all! My friend made a go fund me...which will help! I also shut off cable, got rid of husbands car bc I am not sure when he will be home and driving. Cutting back on everything and anything I can!

glad he's weened off the vent, that is great news out of all the bad news.
He sounds like a great candidate for Kessler in NJ.
