HE'S COMING HOME!
my son will be a civilian on 07/18!
i can't believe he's been a Marine for four years and is on his way out and back to civilian life.
he'll be coming home for about six to nine months to do some additional training and to save a few more bucks before moving to texas. while i have him at home, i plan to spend time teaching him to cook. i don't want him living on taco bell when he leaves.
yay. i'll be able to enjoy his company for a few months before the next chapter in his life.

i know!!
i remember family day when he told me, "mommy, i think some of your friends have been writing to me because i got cards and letters from a few people i don't know."
i still have them all!!
ps. he no longer calls me mommy  he calls me mom, now.

Omg did that just happen as an adult? My son started calling me mom last year at 10 and it’s the worse. I’m so jealous you got the extra years. Lol

the Marines did it. shame on them.
it happened shortly after basic training.
i was lucky to get "mommy" for a while, but he did break my heart at 11 when he no longer wanted a public goodbye kiss at the bus stop.
boys!! they don't realize how they hold our hearts in their hands.

thanks, everyone!
i'm looking forward to spending this time with him as an adult. i'm going to spoil the hell out of him for those few months!
we can start a pool for how long it will take SO to say something about being jealous of the attention i pay to DS lol.
