Ring trend?!

After years of being married I still love engagement discussions lol so I noticed a big trend that most people are wearing their engagement ring and then wedding ring in front of it. I’ve seen more people wearing it this way then wedding band and engagement ring in front recently! Anyone else do this or notice this?

Re: Ring trend?!

I do this because my engagement ring is too big and my wedding ring stops it from falling off Chat Icon

Re: Ring trend?!

I can't do this because I have a pear shaped stone in my e-ring.
It looks ridiculous if I do this.

Originally I wore my wedding band behind my engagement ring but now I wear my band in front BUT not because of a trend or anything...I lost weight and my band seems to hold my engagement ring in place

I actually only wear one or the other. My rings are thick and they don't look great stacked, though I love them of course. I've taken to just wearing my wedding band because it doesn't stick out like my engagement ring does which gets caught on everything. Before though I always wore my wedding band first with my engagement ring on the outside.

I see this sometimes and I always assume it’s just women who don’t realize the “right” way to wear them!

I think in some circles you switch your engagement right to your right hand after you get married and wear just the band on the left.

ETA I’ve actually noticed a trend of not wearing your rings at all.

Re: Ring trend?!

I wear my e-ring sandwiched between two bands.
If I don't feel like wearing the whole set, I wear my mom's simple gold band.

Haven't noticed, but I don't really pay attention to things like that. I barely even wear my own wedding ring and only wear my e-ring when I go out. I've taken to wearing just a silver band because it is more comfortable and i don't worry about losing it or getting damaged.

I don't wear my rings bc they don't fit. I'm trying to lose weight so that they fit again. I'm giving it some more time, but if they don't fit I'll have to have them resized.

I wear them to work, but on the weekends, etc. I usually don't. I just don't think to put them on when running errands on a Saturday.
And if I'm going to the beach or the pool, doing yardwork, cleaning, etc I would never wear them.
I'm not really a jewelry person at all though.
Just not my thing

Re: Ring trend?!

I've seen people wearing it both ways. However, most people I've seen wear it wedding band then E-Ring. I've watched brides wear their E-ring on their right hand, get married and then place the E-ring right over the wedding band and that's where it stays. I wore it the other way because I didn't feel like it was balanced right. My wedding band and band of my e-ring is thin w/diamonds and my center stone is large - so it felt weird the other way around. On our 5 year anniversary, DH bought me a matching band and now my e-ring is sandwiched between the two.

P.S. I hardly wear any bands and if I do, it's mostly just my diamond wedding band.

I have a pear shape ring.. and body.
Anyway, I had the jeweler design my wedding band in a way where I can wear them
Both different ways. It’s too bad both are stuck on my fat fingers though

Ring trend?!

I've always worn them: wedding band and engagement ring.
Sadly, they are both on my pinky lately because the hot weather makes my fingers blow up like balloons.

I have the same problem. My sister had to have her rings cut off. So my dh is ok with me not wearing them for fear of getting stuck.

Re: Ring trend?!

I put my band on first and then my e-ring because my band is a bit looser fitting. I'm not really concerned about how they are supposed to be worn.

I haven't worn my rings in years b/c they don't fit, but I think I wore the engagement ring on the inside & that was a long time a go, so i don't know if it is a trend.

The wedding band should be inside so it is closer to your heart. I wear my band when I go out and for special occasions I wear my e-ring.

I have never noticed what order anyone had their bands. If they were in the wrong order I would assume they didn't know how they're supposed to be worn.

I do this. I figure if I were to lose one it would be the top one and my wedding ring is WAY cheaper than my engagement ring.

I never did this when I was married. I stopped wearing my rings a year before our divorce. When I did wear them, the wedding ring was “closer to my heart”.

And don’t be fooled. That engagement ring you have doesn’t have much value with regards to money.
