What do you do? My twins don't swim yet and they're over the size limit

We have Speedo swim vests. They seem to help keep them up pretty well and aren't very bulky, but they aren't true life saving vests. My girls have taken some lessons.
At the pool we go to most often, they aren't allowed to wear anything. We just stay where they can stand.

I think pool stores still sell the inflatable swimmies that fit over a child's arms. If they are tall enough to stand up in the water, that might just give them a little extra support and confidence to try to swim. Either that or a child sized life vest.

Never used a puddle jumper, but we used a life vest and then went to arm bands and then nothing.

What about those foam back bubbles? Or did they have a similar weight limit to the puddle jumper?
I think it also depends if you’re using it in a pool with a lot of adult supervision or if you were using it on a boat and it potentially needs to be a life-saving device

My son just moved from the puddle jumpers to the speedo swim vest. It helps him practice his arms and legs more, while still giving him some flotation assistance.
