If you take Synthroid....
Who prescribes it for you?
OBGYN? Regular MD? or Endo?
My Endo is not taking my insurance anymore and she is in the city. I only go 1x a year. Don't feel like finding a new one.
Was wondering if my MD or OBGYN would have an issue prescribing it and wondered who most people have it prescribed by.

I take Levothyroxine prescribed by my MD. He didn't want to prescribe it when I was 'borderline', but last time I went the levels were there, so he started prescribing it.

My regular PCP does. I’ve gone to specialists in the past but as soon as it was regulated and I’ve been on same dose for years with zero issues, my PCP can handle it

If you take Synthroid....
My regular doctor prescribes it and also sends me for bloodwork to check my levels. I went to an endo for a while, but its not necessary.

I've had all three prescribe it. My primary care was treating me for a wile, but I felt like I needed a specialist, so I sought out an endo. I'm on my third one.
In between appointments though, by GYN has issued a script for a refill.

I went to an endo for a while but my primary seems to be very knowledgeable. I go to a lot of specialists for other issues and I was getting tired of all the appointments. For the past 3 years, my primary doc has managed my thyroid medications. I did have one consultation with another endocrinologist since then, but nothing really changed.

If you take Synthroid....
I take Levothyroxine, which is prescribed by my MD. Over the years, I've been through a few Endocrinologists, but they don't do anything differently than my primary doctor so it just seemed easier to have him do it. No complaints at all.

If you take Synthroid....
my PCP handles it. She said I could go to an endo if I wanted to, or she could manage it. I opted for her; been 7+ years of her doing it for me
