where does the time go?????!!!!!!!
ladies and gents,
i am about to begin the process of putting together DS's welcome home party.
my baby boy is wrapping up the chapter in his life where he is a marine.
i cannot believe four years have gone by since that day i cried all night because i kept picturing him all alone with a freshly shaved head.
he's already informed me that he feels that there are way too many people in CA and that life here is too expensive. he will come home and take care of a few things, then he plans to move to TX in 2020.
he's leaving me again 
but i'm so happy that he doesn't feel he is obligated to stay close to mommy. he's continuing to spread his wings in the world. i'm so proud of that boy... although there are days i still wish he was 8.
yay for another party... that's not a surprise!
i found an amazing restaurant, close to home that doesn't need any decorations. yay! all i need are a few balloons and a nice cake.

Congrats to your baby boy (he'll always be your baby boy). You did such a great job with him. You should be proud of yourself, as well.

Yeah that flew by! I remember your posts when he announced he enlisted!
He's doing what every parent wants their child to do! You did good mama!

ha! i don't know.
he's still figuring it out because he has so many vacation days. they might let him go early and just pay him those vacation days. he's currently on a six-week training thing (which cracks me up... training for what, he'll be leaving this summer).
i know for sure that he'll be home, at the very latest, the end of the summer. so i'm scheduling the party for the weekend after labor day.

lots of vets go to texas after the service. he will have a whole support system there!!

i told him there's only one rule... when there are future grandkids, expect me to move in to the same town.

congrats to your baby -- thanks for your sacrafice and his service. please make sure he gets all of his dod papers and any thing he is entitled to taken care of before he separates, my husband was told he'd be entitled to gi $$ for schooling when he enlisted, once he separated they said only if he would have recommitted past his 6 years :/ have him sign up for his veteran id as well. no suggestions for a party but lots of happiness your way!
