Flu?
I’ve had the flu for a week... a week and I have been continuously getting worse, last night and today have been the worse and I’ve been to the doctor 3x swabbed for EVERYTHING multiple times and the flu, flu only being the positive. Tamiflu made me horribly sick. The fever started yesterday and has been on and off, seriously anyone have any suggestions?!? I have never felt this horrible and I got the flu shot

Re: Flu?
Honestly Tamiflu doesn't do shit for a lot of people I know.
I feel like you have to just ride it out to be honest. It can go on for 10+ days even.
Lots of fluids and rest, etc Try to build up you immunity the best you can
Maybe elderberry- i know a lot of people have success with that, but usually when it's taken from the start of symptoms and consistently.
ETA- you have had the flu for a week but the fever only started yesterday? That seems odd to me

Agree. All you can do is rest. When I had it last year, I had a fever an entire week straight. I took Tylenol every 5 -6 hours (can’t take Advil - allergic) and as soon as it was time to take it again, I would start with the full body shakes and my eyes would feel swollen. It was awful. I’m sorry you’re feeling so sick.
Rest. I drank hot tea with honey, lemon and fresh grated ginger. I also took mucinex every 12 hours to keep my chest from getting congested. Feel better

Flu?
We all had the flu during the school break 2 weeks ago and I'm still coughing up phlegm. Gross. My fever only lasted 2 days but the kids lasted almost 4 days and theirs went up to 104!
It's horrible, but I think you just have to ride it out and stay hydrated. Feel better

Flu?
Are you sure you haven’t developed pneumonia? I would insist on a chest X-ray to make sure. Feel better!

I have no idea, it started out as chest pain and coughing, I was actually feeling better Saturday after taking the cough medication they gave me but the tamiflu made me feel horrible and I couldn’t eat, then the fevers started Sunday. They said my lungs were clear??? If I’m still sick tomorrow I’m going back because minus Saturday I’ve gotten worse every day. I’ll ask about the chest x-Ray. At this point the fever is barely responding to Motrin/ Tylenol. I’ll be ok for like an hour after taking it then the fever goes right back up. My kids thankfully are ok right now but I took care of them all weekend (I didn’t have help unfortunately and my husband was away) luckily today they went to my moms and my husband is taking care of them now so I can rest. Just praying they don’t get it

Use a damp cool washcloth on your forehead and the back of your neck to help with the fever. Also I think you can piggyback the Tyelnol/Motrin like you do with kids....i think it's more effective that way

Re: Flu?
Tylenol every 4 hours Advil every 6 hours Warm baths 64 oz. Of water daily Soup, eggs, toast, fruit, applesauce, bananas, rice, spices.
You want to be well hydrated and rested.
Go back to your doctor because you may have developed pneumonia. Tamiflu makes you vomit.

Flu?
My DD and I had flu A in 2014 and then she had it this last Dec. all 3 of those times antibiotics were needed. This past time I fought with her new on call doctor and said she needs one and the doctor told me no. Went back the next day to her regular doc who said yes the flu is now also bronchitis. We didn’t get better until we took an AB. CLEARLY an ab won’t help the flu. But secondary issues are common!

I forgot about this. But yes. I was given a zpack prophylactically when I tested + for flu.

Re: Flu?
Oh so my son has the flu, and his pediatrician is not prescribing Tamiflu to his patients anymore because last month he had a patient jump out of a window after taking it. So he did not want to give it to my son. He also said the vomiting and diarrhea is not worth it.

My ped will not prescribe it either. She said the side effects in children are really bad and not worth it.

My Ped won’t either. She says it causes hallucinations in children in her experience. After that I did some googling. The company is super shady and won’t release any reports or statistics that it works. Basically they say trust us it works so we don’t need to release studies bc it works so trust us.
