Disney people - Early Morning Magic??

Am I missing something...?
It's an EXTRA $79 on top of an admission ticket to get into the park a couple hours early??

I thought that was free for people staying in disney resorts...?

Makes me sad how much Disney is driving up costs all around. Chat Icon

Is this for Hollywood Studios? The appeal is Toy Story Land, and no lines to ride the stuff over and over. I would never pay for it for MK, but HS, probably if I couldn't get any fastpasses!

Disney people - Early Morning Magic??

Yes it is for early access. I hear it is totally worth it and I am pretty sure the fee includes breakfast. None of the parks have it on the day we are going. I'd totally do it for MK.

Early morning magic is different than free extra magic hours which is extra hours in the morning or at night for resort guests. I have done early morning magic at MK 3 times, breakfast is included and you basically walk on an get to go on the high wait time rides as many times as you can, then once park opens you move on to other rides with little waits. My family loves it and you can accomplish a lot. They have since added rides to the MK one and I haven’t tried since they did, but most likely would if it was available at the time.

As others said, EMM is different than EMH. I initially thought I wouldn't do it. But, we had no fast passes for SDD or 7DMT and my 4 and 6 year old love those types of coasters. We did EMM at both TSL and MK (when it was just 7DMT, PP and WTP). It was definitely worth it for us. We spent most of the time on the coaster.

Sad, right, that $$$ can make you a different class citizen even as a kid, in Disney World.

People hire “guides” too.

Don't worry!! Chat Icon Early Morning Magic is an optional paid thing, it includes breakfast with early access to the park.
Extra Magic Hours are different. They are FREE to anybody who is staying at a Disney hotel...
SO you can get into certain parks early on certain days, for free if you're staying at a Disney hotel Chat Icon

Of course I know this. And I know Disney is a private business. And I know it’s a privilege to be able to afford to go to Disney at all.

It just feels somewhat wrong that Disney have so many programs to “skip” or “shorten” waits in line for extra $$$ (not including FP although even that is different for those who stay at Disney hotels): from staying at their hotels for extra perks, to the morning hours, to post-hour events (where they close parks early for the event), to “guides”. My neighbors came home gushing over how for an extra $1K a day, their kids waited on NO lines during a holiday week... how they walked to the front when lines twisted and turned all day. I know it’s business... and lots of places do it, but it does seem to highlight inequality of children based on their parents finances (or spending). Don’t know... idealistic me thinks that that is very “unDisney” of them.

No judgement at all of those who use it. I have done the Christmas and Halloween parties myself (sounds somewhat similar).

Just more of a *sigh* that it exists and keeps expanding.

This exactly.

I'm grateful that my family can afford and enjoy Disney...but it's gotten to the point that many families simply cannot afford to take their kids to Disney (over $100 a day per person?!). And yet their kids watch the shows, see the commercials for disney vacations, etc. Makes me sad. I know that's how life goes...but it just stinks.

To get back to previous posters - thank you for clearing it up for me.

WOW this sounds crazy. What is it that the extra 1k is giving you a special wristband to cut all the lines? Im so confused by this, but i havent been to disney with my kids yet. Hoping to go in 2020

I get what you're saying and I don't think it's silly.

Disney used to be a little more egalitarian with things than say Universal.

FPS have always been free to everyone with no price tag ever attached, but now they allow the purchase of extras when you stay club level. It's not a big deal at all, it just represents a tiny movement towards a tiered experience for something that used to offer universal access. Plus the interest in general nickel and diming they've done over the years.

I've done it at MK and am doing it again next week, again at MK. I thought it was great!!!!! But I have two little ones who tucker out early and dont do well on lines so I wanted to maximize the experience for them. The EMM only grants access to fantasy land though. Last time we were able to conquer all on fantasy land and then immediately ran over to the popular rides right at opening. Then we used our fast passes the rest of the day and basically did not wait on any lines. It was amazing Haha. Breakfast was good too!

It's an added expense but for us was worth it. :)

I might do this for early access to Toy Story Land now that Star Wars Land is opening prior to our trip. I just think the crowds at HS will be crazy.

ETA it also includes breakfast.
