Is this too early--- party question

I'm considering having my daughter's 5th birthday party at 9:30am on the weekend is that obnoxiously early and a terrible idea? I know the general concensus is "do what works for you" but just curious what the general sentiment is about that time. Thanks!

Re: Is this too early--- party question

Where is it at? For me yes, I feel like the first thing I had to do when I get up is go straight to a party. I think it also depends on who you are inviting and if everyone is close to the location.

I know as a person who works full time all week, I wouldn't be happy with the time. Unless it was family or close friend I would most likely decline.

The time imo is fine. Leaves plenty of time for chores afterwards. We are having a breakfast bounce party for my 3 yr old and it is 9am-1030. A bunch of my mom friends were fine with it. Not like kids are sleeping in all day around here. Lol

I actually prefer that time over an afternoon party honestly

I honestly would love that time. Dd is up already anyways and it would still leave plenty of time to do stuff afterwards. It doesnt break up your day.

My kids are up at the crack of dawn. A party at 930 is great, plus it doesn’t kill the rest of the day.

Too early for me personally. If you can push it back to at least 10 that’s bit more reasonable I think....

We’re doing my daughters 5th at the same time. I’d much rather early than an afternoon/evening party. But, my kids are up at 7 and asleep by 730/8

I would still take her but I prefer later. I like to sleep until past 8 on a weekend then sit in my pjs and drink coffee for a hour or so without having to get dressed.
It's my only 2 days of the week to not have to wake up and rush.

It's whatever is easiest for you. I always say those that will come for your DD will make it work.
It is early, but most people are up that time on the weekends anyway. My kids are getting older so all sports are up early anyway. There's no such thing as sleeping in.
Plus you can do bagels too.

I would prefer later, but we went to a birthday party at 10:00 at a movie theater and it was fun. It was nice to have the rest of the day but I do love loafing around in my PJs on the weekend, especially since I'm out the door by 6:00 AM on weekdays.

I wouldn't be thrilled but it wouldn't stop me from attending.

DD has dance early on Saturdays but I would probably let her miss miss dance for a party.

I strongly prefer parties either early or late. I hate when they’re in the middle of the day.

Exactly, even though my son gets up at 7, i do not feel like doing the whole morning rush thing I do every day during the week on my day off.

Plus I don't get up with him - haven't for years. But I guess I am the only parent that doesn't lol.

Yes, that's early. Would it prevent me from bringing my kid? No.

I am counting down the minutes until DD can go downstairs, make herself breakfast and glue herself to the tv. When does it happen, Sash, when???

I don't either! BUT I have a DH who is up at the ass crack of dawn every day so it has never really been an issue
But even when he's at the gym on the weekend- she will get up, go inside and watch tv and wait for me to get up or him to get home.

It's not terribly early, imo, especially since most people with kids get woken up early by their kids anyway. I'd prefer the early time to have the rest of the day free.

Chat Icon Agreed! I count it as a win that now that she's in her big girl bed at almost 3 that she gets up, uses the bathroom, and plays quietly in her room for an extra 1/2 hour on the weekends before standing over me in bed telling me she's hungry. Perfect timing since I'll have a newborn again in 4 weeks. Chat Icon

That's a great time! I love early bday parties so we have the rest of the day.

ETA: It's also my only 2 days home, but it's my only 2 days to get errands done and spend time with family and friends, so I prefer earlier in the day.
