I think I have the flu UPDATED
I’m convinced I have the flu!! Last night out of no where a strong sore throat came on like the worst of my life
My body hurts
I can’t sleep because I have such a headache and I just took my temp and it’s 101.2
FML
I’ll call the dr but really what can they do
It’s the FLU
I can’t even believe this
Off to bed I go

I think I have the flu
Go to the dr. If u need tamiflu its only effective within i think 48 hrs. I had the flu a few years ago and i couldn't move for 3 days

I've thought i had it twice and both times the worst symptoms only lasted a day or two. Hopefully it's something quick. Could it be strep?

If you go to the dr, and test + They can give you tamiflu because it’s within the time frame to take it. If you’re negative, they may check for strep.
The flu really stinks. If it is, load up on soup, tea, Gatorade and rest rest rest! If you take vitamins - get some extra C and zinc. When I had it last year, I had a fever for 6 days! I had to take Tylenol every 5-6 hours on the dot or it would spike. It sucked big time.
But rest is really the best medicine.

I think I have the flu
My daughter had the flu last year this day exactly....I loaded her up on "Flu Fix" (Harmon sells it) , along with 2,000 iu vitamin D and that Osciosillum stuff, wiped it out in 2 days!

Sounds like Strep to me.
When I had flu I didn't' have a severe sore throat like that.
I'd go get a strep test to be sure.
As far as Tamiflu- DH took it and it did absolutely NOTHING for him- he was sick as a dog for longer than me and DD who didn't take it- so don't worry about that so much.

Go to the doctor! I had it 2 weeks ago (at 7 months pregnant after getting the %&^#@* flu shot! With a 3 y/o who also had it after getting the flu shot!  ) and they tested me and prescribed Tamiflu. It REALLY helped. I had the flu a few years ago and it lasted a week and a half without Tamiflu. I got over it this time in about 4 days.. fully recovered in a week. It does make a difference. And it helps when you start treatment within 48 hours of symptoms appearing.
ETA: Though with the pain swallowing it might be strep instead. Either way, you should go to the docs!

I think I have the flu
I had the flu 2 years ago and took Tamiflu. I'm convinced that it made me worse. I was so sick and couldn't keep any food down after taking it.

I’ve had the flu the last 2 years. Was fine in 3 days, no meds. Just rest and plenty of fluids!

If you have the flu, Take the Tamiflu better to have something that can make you feel better than not take anything at all. Flu sucks!

Yes. Strep in an adult is awful. I felt worse the times I have had strep than when I had flu.
However, it's actually good if you do have it- because the antibiotics help so fast.
With flu or anything viral it just drags on with no help.

Yes I used to get it as a kid a lot but this time as adult was so bad, and my asthma was ridiculous. They had to give me a stronger inhaler and horse pill antibiotics lol.
I was happy I went to the doctors because I would’ve went in the office Thursday and he told me I could still be contagious. I always think me working but forget you can get others sick by trying to be superwoman.

I was going to say strep, too. Strep comes on FAST and it will feel like your throat is so swollen that you can't swallow. I'd get swabbed.

I’m with you ladies and think it’s strep (hoping it is so I can get meds( years ago I took tamiflu for the flu and it made me SO sick!! If it is the flu I can’t take it after what happened last time

I would go to the doctor, I just took my 9 y/o daughter this morning who complained of a lot of the same symptoms. She has strep and flu.

It’s so weird I’m exhausted and feel like I was hit by a truck but I can’t stay asleep :( I doze off then wake up every half hour or so...this blows!!!

I had my DH get me Gatorade but it’s burning my throat so badly
I know it’s good with the electorates but my throat is so sore :(
I’ve been having peppermint tea with honey such a weird combo but it’s soothing
Hoping this passes soon the dr said it gets worse before it gets better
(I didn’t get the flu shot, I never do, maybe next winter I will )

See if your DH can get you Throat Coat Tea.
OMG it's sooo soothing.
It's almost slippery I want to say- it actually coats and soothes so well!

Eh, the flu shot wasn't very effective this year. Both DD and I got it and had the flu. Meanwhile, DH didn't get the shot and didn't have it! He did have it last Valentine's Day though and we were spared.
I didn't have the sore throat but lots of chills, aches, and vomiting.  It was horrible! I hope the sore throat is the worst of it for you and you're feeling better soon!
