The Greatest Party that Never Happened on Netflix
If you want to kill some time, watch this.
It's about the Fyre Music Festival that was supposed to happen in the Bahamas and was a total disaster.
People were paying all this money to attend, rent houses, "luxury tents" etc- and it turned out to be a nightmare because the promoters had no idea how to set it up, mismanaged MILLIONS of dollars and the island couldn't handle the infrastructure needed for an event this size.
People were showing up to this remote island and they had nowhere to go, no way to get out, no food, water etc. It was a disaster.
I found it so fascinating to watch how this whole thing unfolded and I cannot believe what went on. And the guy who ran the whole thing was a HUGE crook and scammer.
Definitely a good watch.

I just saw the Netflix one and need to watch the Hulu one.
I feel bad for the people from the island that were working for the festival. No one else.

Yep. All assholes. Looking for an Instsgram photo opp. Look at ME!!!
That poor woman from the restaurant who had to take $50k from her own savings to pay her workers because she felt terrible that they had worked for weeks and didn't get paid....i felt terrible for her

I saw this over the weekend! Couldn't believe what happened. Absolutely disgusting what they did. This is what happens when nobody says NO to anyone with money. Or who they think has money. And that f*cker was trying it again when he was out on bail! He needs to get hit with the Karma bus.
And JaRule disappeared real quick when the going got tough. He was no victim in this.

A GoFund page was set up. She received all her money back and all the workers were paid! They raised over $200K from honest decent people!

Omg that is awesome! I'm so happy to hear that.
I was actually thinking as I watched her talk, if only I was independently wealthy I would love to help that poor woman.
Glad people came together to do that

And was anyone else kind of sitting there like  when that one guy said he was willing to go give the head of Bahamian customs a BJ in order to get him to release the trucks of water?

I watched this twice!!! When this happened I wanted to know the whole story. Ja Rule is a Ja-Joke!!! When they were having that conference call at the end when the one guy who said we flat out lied to everyone that's fraud. Ja Rule said it wasn't fraud... it was "false advertising"
And then the one guy who went to the festival didn't want anyone around his tent... so he slashed the tents around him and his friends peed on the mattresses so no one would go in them... I thought was a jerk...
I heard the hulu documentary was more in favor of the guy who ran the festival. I have not seen it though.

no, def. not in favor of him. but they paid him a lot of money to get interviews with him (which people didnt like that they paid him for) and his girlfriend, all of which were very, very interesting.
It has a lot of similar footage but i felt it had a better flow, better understanding of things via the editing and i liked their interviews better (they just didn't have the blowjob story, which everyone loved on the netflix special). If anyone also has hulu, I actually highly recommend it.

My first thought was Ja Rule?! Where did they dig his corpse out of?! I hear that name and I'm picturing a Weekend at Bernie's pully system had to be rigged.
And the con artist who ran the show is out on bail and starts scamming these people he duped into attending his phony festival AGAIN by targeting the email list with VIP ticket scams lol and these idiots didn't learn their lesson the first time and start buying up those phony tickets again  I almost admire the genius. But seriously, he deserves to be locked away because he won't stop as we clearly see.

Absolutely agree! I had read somewhere last week that a gofund me had been set up for the woman who worked at or owned the bar on the beach.

LOVED this doc! It was so so good. I dont know how I had never heard about the Fyre Festival.
Andy King is the real MVP!
Billy is such a scumbag, the fact that he was trying to scam other while out on bail? Eff off. I guarantee he wont learn his lesson
Apparently the Netflix doc was produced by F*** Jerry so it was a little bias as compared to the Hulu one (which I havent seen)
People are going after the models as if they had anything to do with it!!
