Has anyone gone during the summer? Im looking at week days in the third week of August. Am i crazy? Will it be so crowded its not worth it? Other option is Eden resort on same dates. Kalahari is 400$ more for same dates but includes water parks.

We went last year. Weekends are always more crowded then during the week. We like to go from Thurs to Sat usually and Sat is always nuts. Doable but crowded.

We have gone to kalahari 3x, all on holiday weekends. It’s so big, there were always empty tables to sit at and lines were never that long. We waited maybe 15 mins for the big 4 people tube rides. I will say we are early birds so we usually get there when it opens so by 3/4 pm ish we are done. I think it’s busiest from 12-5. If you go at night it’s a lite crowd since they have other things to do.

Re: Kalahari
I feel like it would be LESS crowded in the summer for a few reasons. Number one they have the outdoor area open in the summer so that takes the burden off the inside area and kind of spreads the crowds out over a larger area.
Number two, a lot of people do outdoor vacations in the summer- beach vacations, camping, outdoor theme parks like Hershey, etc. I know we never think to go to an indoor water park in the summer. We like to go in the winter because there's nothing else to do and it's fun to do something with water and slides and pools in the middle of the cold weather, kwim?
So I bet it will be less crowded in summer to be honest.

I was looking at reviews online and there are a ton of bad ones. Customer service to cleanliness and bed bugs. I couldnt believe it!

Same - we’ve been 4 or 5 times and haven’t had an issue with the rooms.
Someone did poop in the wave pool last time but they were diligent with cleaning.

I am actually at Kalahari now and noticed there are bed bug detectors behind each bed. I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad thing, and if these are in every room or not. Has anyone seen these anywhere before?
This is my second visit here and I noticed the hallways both times are very dirty with random debri and the rugs in my room haven’t been vaccuumed properly. There is random candy fragments, sauce stains and hair balls around the bed.
Oh wow - all the reviews im talking about are pretty recent. Past couple months. Seems like there was an outbreak of bed bugs. Plus tons of ppl complaining about the cleanliness and staff all going downhill. Really a shame. Check out tripadvisor. Im sure you wont get bites. Hope you have a nice trip!
